Agree with FastGlass. I like to play around with portraits and use 3 SB-800s with umbrellas, softboxes, snoots, gels, etc. to get different effects. Since I can't lure modes into my studio, I'm doing sefies to fine tune my lighting skills. These are all 3 flash shots, triggered by an SU-800...

I have no problem taking my D600 up to 6400. Here's a shot from last year of Chuck Berry in a small local venue, shot with an 80-200 2.8, wide open at 1/200 sec.

We opened a new bridge across the Mississippi today and we had a chance to walk across it yesterday. Despite extreme cold weather, many showed up. Nicknamed the Stan Span, it's named after Stan Musial, baseball great of the St. Louis Cardinals who passed away last year at the age of 92.

I had the 80-200 D ED (2 ring) for a few years prior to getting the 70-200. I didn't do any side by side comparos, but the big difference I notice is focus speed and (when I need it) VR. I was content with the 80-200, but stole the 70-200 off Craigslist for $1400 in mind condition. 80-200...
