June 2nd already, here's a colour version of my monthly assignment's first pic: And one more with both versions. I thought of submitting this one too, but there are no flowers in there. I wasn't sure leaves would do.

Here's my first for this month's assignment: D700, 1/500s, f5.6 iso 3200, sigma 105 macro 2.8

I bought a 55 1.2 AIS a few years ago for around 300.00 $. It's not the famous Nokton, but close enough for my needs. Here are a few pics done with it when I first got it:

If I remember correctly for having been there last september, there are a few cottages and a restaurant in the bay. There might have been a few street lamps down there. The rock is called Azure Window and is quite impressive.Here is a daylight shot of the Window:

May 26th, Afternoon Delight with D700, Sigma 105 macro 2.8, 1/25s, f5.6, iso 3200

May 25th, morning moment with Nikonites, D600 iso 1600, 24-70 2.8.

With only 10 grams more than my 50mm 1.8D that weights 190 grams, this 28-80 is almost 2 full pounds lighter than the 24-70 2.8. So it's really nice for a walk or cycling. Here it is in it's full splendour:

May 24th, Good news Bad news From this: To this: The bad news is that when installing the last baseboard, there was some water seeping out of the new floor cover… I might have to redo the whole F*****g thing. Have to deal with insurance now… Seems like more time away from camera.

May 23rd, piano person with the animal twist. I only had the chance to shoot 2 shots before the dog left… At least, one of them is OK.D600, 24-70 2.8 @f4, 1/80, iso 1600

May 22nd, I went crawling on the wet grass to try to get some macro shots. Man it's tough to try doing minimum focus distance hand held. Anyway, I got this one that's about half good. I just couldn't get the bug to turn around to face the camera. It must have been a female bug… :)

May 19th, Wild apple blossoms in my backyard:

Nice photos but just a tad cold (too cyan and blue). Pictures made in the shade do have to be warmed up in post processing. But, for the picture where the kid is laying down, I think black and white with a little sepia would make it even better. Here's my take:

Went back out with my Sigma 105 2.8 macro to try getting a beauty shot of some wild apple flowers just coming out in my backyard. Wind + macro don't go well together outside... I did get one interesting. Here are the two versions of it:
