which camera would be best for retail automation?

Yeah, there are many here knowledgeable in cameras, but I can't think of any "retail automation" professionals.

Astrophotography - Deep Space Objects (DSO)

This is tonight's sky in Stellarium Web. Pons-Brooks is mag 5.5, about the same as M33 itself there. It's moved pretty far since George's photo (and remember he shot it in the southern hemisphere).

    Another external hard drive recommendation

Clovis, just checking on your homework: You do know that the faster and less expensive SSD drives come in the compact M.42 form-factor and interface? They are just a small board with memory chips, similar to RAM. The SATA type that come in 2.5 inch size package are just to work on older...

    Nikon Z7ii - Advice

Truth be told here, F-mount Nikon is in a very slow phase-out. Not dead, but you are not going to see new lenses or bodies coming beyond what is available today. That said, the D850 is the best of the last DSLR bodies to choose. It has always excelled at wildlife subjects. Z7-II in my opinion...

Astrophotography - Deep Space Objects (DSO)

Right now it is very near Triangulum galaxy in the evening sky. George is showing Andromeda on the right it appears. Think that is Triangulum upper-left. Still between mag 5 and 6, so go-to telescope mount helps. Still unknown if it will be visible during the total eclipse. It would need to...

    A nice early-afternoon sun.

I was not even aware of the large solar flare early Saturday until well after the photoshoot. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamiecartereurope/2024/03/23/double-solar-flare-sees-sun-wake-up-weeks-before-total-solar-eclipse/?sh=1117866a2434

    A nice early-afternoon sun.

After watching several eclipse tutorial videos lately, I had a rethink of my photography plan. I will have one camera with wide-angle lens on a fixed tripod, and the main camera with my Sigma 150-600mm lens on my heavy tripod with star-tracker mount. I can use the intervalometer with each setup...

    Another external hard drive recommendation

SSD and HDD each have their unique features. With SSD, there is no mechanical parts. Files read and write to memory instantly without waiting for parts to move. Also because of this it is far better in a portable role since mechanical shock is less of thing. The main weakness of SSD is that...

    WIFI will not stay connected

Glad we helped indirectly. :) I think the reason the Airplane Mode works is the phone is searching for an active internet connection, which the camera is not.

Joined a photo club last night

Good on you. In the past 2-3 years I have found the websites for the Madison, WI astronomy club and an art-photo club. I've not reached out to either yet. Admittedly I primarily am interested in the astronomy club to access their dark sky campsite. The photo club looks very interesting as they...

learned something new - flash and silent mode don't mix.

Which is louder? Mechanical shutter or the whine of the strobe charging? :)

lens filter for d60 so I can take picture of eclipse

Time is a' wasting here, you need to buy now. You even want to practice just photographing the sun before the event. Your camera body is irrelevant. You get a filter that is matched to your lens. The filter size is normally printed on the lens body with the other specs it has. Then shop for a...

    Turkey Vulture

Vultures are by far the most common raptor I see flying. But they also are soaring at the highest altitude of any bird except migrating geese. Red-tail hawk is nearly as common but typically observed perched on utility poles. The spot to photograph turkey vultures in southern Wisconsin is Lodi...

    AF Zoom Sweet Spot?

I mostly stay aware that setting things to the extreme maximum or minimum will drop the quality or performance in some way. I especially might try to avoid lowest f-stop at maximum zoom. But sometimes you have to do it.

D3200 IR Shutter Release stopped working

There is an infrared LED on the "front" of the remote. It should be pointed to the camera to operate. If you set the camera to LiveView, the rear LCD screen will be what the sensor sees. So aim the remote LED at the lens from the front side and look at the rear screen. The LED should light up or...

D3200 IR Shutter Release stopped working

Troubleshooting requires starting with the ridiculously stupid things and move down the list getting progressively more expensive for repair options. We here only have the 2 sentences you wrote to work with. So given that... Is the IR sensor in front of the camera blocked in any way? Perhaps...

Astrophotography - Deep Space Objects (DSO)

It is likely from the combining of the 2 images. The starless version is very detailed. Trying to tame down the number of stars visible in the overlay forces a higher-contrast to things.
