Been a few years since I posted, been busy with model/fashion work, so here's the most recent with the Nikon D850 with Sigma Art 105mm f1.4, ISO 160, f4.0, 1/125s flash sync.

    Nikon Nikkor 400mm f2.8 and 800mm f5.6 AIS ... a modern view ( w Nikon D800 and D850)

It's been a while since I posted here (ie: years lols), nice to see the forum is still so active. I was so busy buying Sigma lenses the past two years but this is something I think worthy to show because it is so hard (at least for me) to find really good reference of these old lenses. I...

Studio shoot with Nikon D4 and 85mm 1.4G

Been out of the loop for a while so thought I would post a recent studio shoot. This was with the D4. My D800 is on loan to a friend who has loaned me his Canon slide scanner so I'm happy to be spending a LOT of time lately going through my entire Kodachrome slide archive (from the 80s and 90s)...

Was curious about this since it was only $25. Actually not too bad, but won't use it in the field until I've tested it a bit first at home. Not sure I trust it with the D4 and D800 yet hehe. But actually it is made pretty well. I thought about trying it because I didn't like the Black Rapid...

Just another Day at the Beach with a nice truck, model, and the Nikon D4 and D800

Ya, I'm more of a Ford pickup guy myself but hey, you work with what you are given. :o A couple of images above I applied different color to make them look like from 50s or 70s so here are the original colored ones.

Just another Day at the Beach with a nice truck, model, and the Nikon D4 and D800

Good point Kevin. Although I guess I was distracted a bit that I didn't think of just a head shot, :o . Ahh wait, here are a couple that are a bit closer. Another one for the heck of it....

Beach shots from a couple weekends back along with truck posing and a few indoor shots as well. This was for a portfolio shoot.

    Nikon D810

The E doesn't have the anti-aliasing filter, which affects resolution. Better resolution means better ability to distinguish two points from one another when spaced closely together. Sharpness analysis: D800E vs. D800 - DxOMark

    My favorite D4 shots :D

Wasn't sure if I should put these in the portrait section or the D4 section but since they show more of the D4 I'll put them here. ;) Well these were not taken with my D4, but rather with my iphone5 but they are my favorite shots of my D4 not too long after I got it. There's something I find...

    35, 50, 85 on DX?

I use the 50mm 1.4G on my D7000 and it is my go-to lens for portraits using that camera. It offers great image quality and is similar in perspective to my 85 1.4G on my FX cameras. I haven't used the 85mm 1.4G as much as it is a bit to close for me indoors for portraits. But it works fine and...
