    2 Cyclones in Australia

Cyclone Marcia is continuing its path down the Queensland coast, it crossed this morning as a cat 5, it has weakened throughout the day, and is now a cat 2. It is still damaging older houses and dumping rain on the affected areas. We have friends in Yepoon, they lost trees in their yard and 2...

    2 Cyclones in Australia

We have 2 cyclones bearing down on our coastline, both due to hit land early tomorrow morning. Cyclone Lam in the Northern Territory, on the map Scott Murray lives at Jabiru, so not far from the action. Hopefully it won't do too much damage wherever it does end up hitting. Macro help with focus and DoF

Lawrence, I think your bee shot is blurred because of camera movement or because it was too windy, but you are on the right track. A bit of perseverance and you will be punching out good shots in no time. I was shooting bees a few days ago. On the first day, I was shooting them the same as I do...

    Ironwoods Backyard Critters

I went looking for the Bees again this afternoon. I tried a different approach today, no flash, so I had to open up to f11 to keep the shutter speed high enough. It is windy again today, so I missed a lot of shots, these were the best of what I took. Let me know what you think of these shots...

Want to take a macro then this is the thread.

I have had a bit of a play around with my different lighting setups today. I changed the settings a bit to try and get the most out of each setup. They are both the same spider, just taken on opposite sides of the leaf, hence the different shade of green. It took me a while to find it again...

    Ironwoods Backyard Critters

I found this Australian Water Dragon near my verandah today. He is about 3 feet long. Usually they take off at the slightest movement, but this one sat on this palm seed frond long enough for me to get a few shots, and even change lenses.
