Great! I have a 50mm, F1.8. I am assuming auto iso is not an option. So I will try your settings and see what happens. Thank you!

You are right. And it is a shame because I am getting ready to go to New Mexico where people from all over the world go to take pictures of the night sky. My sister lives near El Malpais National Conservation Area. But I don't really get out there enough to spend the money on the equipment...

I was picking between 2 harriers. I think I like this female harrier better because of the background and because the foxtails on the grass is in focus along with the bird. The other one was of the male harrier.

This is a Rough Legged Hawk at Bear Coal Mine, IN. He would not come near as close as the Harriers.

    Robin's Assorted What Not's

So Andy and I went to Goose Pond IN to try and get some photos of Sandhills, Whooping cranes, eagles, Rough Legged Hawks, Harriers, Short Eared Owls and all kinds of ducks. We went at the end of Feb., and unfortunately for us it had been in the 20's all week and everything was frozen and the...

These are fantastic Woody! How are you able to get so close? Are you using a teleconverter? The ducks at our local lake take off as soon as you get anywhere near. Sometimes when I get out of the car.

The craftsmanship of the stone masons is just incredible! How much thought and effort must have gone into these old churches is simply amazing.
