    D60 to d7500

The D7500 is the last crop-sensor DSLR still listed at Nikon's web site. I am guessing you are wanting an upgrade that still uses your old lenses from the D60 to keep down cost. But this is the end of times for DSLR camera bodies. So I am going to recommend to shop for a used body. DSLR bodies...

    Upgrade path from D2H

All the gear listed was the good stuff, but by 23 years ago standards. The lenses would be great for somebody using a 1990's film body because they are all using the old style screw-drive autofocus system. The 17-55mm lens being the one with a built-in AF motor and can be used on more bodies...

    External Intervalometer

I have experimented with the intervalometer connector of my Skywatcher AZ-GTi and let's just say I trust my dedicated intervalometer remote release much more. For $40 or less it is something I never regretted buying. Good luck, I recommend a practice run during the day to verify.

    External Intervalometer

To a remote shutter release port. Nikon used 2 different connectors for that. Not sure which kind a D4 uses.

    Snapbridge Question

All valid Clovis, but my take here is that our original poster does not remove the SD card from camera in any of his preferred workflow. So I am addressing why the failure to move the photos from the camera to Snapbridge is happening. Clearly adjusting white balance was only a coincidence and I...

    Snapbridge Question

Ok, tablet is used instead of a phone. But Snapbridge is still copying the photo from the camera by Bluetooth connection to storage on the tablet. Then it will upload a copy to Nikon Image Space cloud storage. But those images also remain on the tablet storage. They can fill up all remaining...

    Snapbridge Question

If those image transfers are going to a microSD card in your phone, test that card. Is if full? Can you write or transfer any other file or photos to it? It is not uncommon for the microSD cards to fail in a way that it will no longer write files but you can still read files stored on it. If...

Any tips on pre release capture?

I think you did good here. Put some faith in the camera's noise reduction feature and I think you can make high ISO work better than you think with the JPEG files.

This memory card cannot be used

Good that there was no data loss, just minor hardware. So if you thought it was poor coding that was the cause of stuff like this, that is not entirely the thing to blame. Random bits in memory can flip from radiation exposure and also cosmic rays of all things. This video I watched some weeks...

This memory card cannot be used

Card is bad. I have not had an SD card fail in a camera yet, but I have had failures being used as main storage in a netbook PC. I also have maybe 10 microSD cards fail in phones and tablets over the years with the same basic problem. Suddenly you cannot write files but files can be read. The...

    Hello from Dr. Clikk...

Welcome from a fellow Z5 user. Will I be violating a copyright if I form a band in the future and call it The Clikk Doctors? :)

It's really looking like F-mount could be at the bitter end.

It was only 5 years ago that Nikon discontinued the F6 film SLR. I am a bit alarmed at the very low prices DSLR cameras are trading for used, and the equally low prices on the F-mount lenses that are not the pro-level gear. I have pretty much decided that my D750 and at least 2 remaining...

It's really looking like F-mount could be at the bitter end.

I'm not pleased by this, but I have been preparing for it. The Nikon Rumors site announced that the D6 was removed from the Nikon Japan site. I had out of some morbid curiosity checked the Nikon USA site in the past month, and there was only 4 active DSLR models listed, the rest are all in an...

How to stack multiple portable hard drives

I know of many ways and products to do this to bare 2.5 inch HDDs, but I have not seen this done commercially with stand alone drives in enclosures. Do you plug them in all at once (maybe through a USB hub)? I personally don't see an issue with stacking on each other directly if only 1 at a time...

lens that work with D90 and D3500/D3200

That is an excellent choice. Same lens compatibility with D90 and you retain the advanced features.

lens that work with D90 and D3500/D3200

They will fit. But will autofocus work? That is the correct question. Although you are looking at much newer cameras with improved specs, the D90 in it's time was the "prosumer" body so it had extra features over the beginner line bodies, which is what the D3200 and D3500 are. A D90 has the...

    ChatGPT Action Figures

ChatGPT appears to be angry with me tonight. So here is another attempt using Microsoft's AI. This time I used my work account to log into the Office365 CoPilot online. Getting some better results than yesterday on the Bing CoPilot, but the language on packaging may be Finnish for all I can...

    ChatGPT Action Figures

I had to try about 3 drafts with ChatGPT to get the text mostly fixed and make changes on the tools. If I tried something like change age or physique to something more natural the face would morph into something not me. Then I had to restart at the beginning. So what you see is the image AI made...
