Thank you @Iansky. I really don't need it. It has some features that I think I would enjoy, but I'm pretty happy with the D500. I didn't put my name down, my husband did. Nice of him to encourage me to spend my money on myself (because he's certainly not spending HIS money on my behalf! ;-) )...

My husband put my name on the waiting list at our local camera shop to be notified when the D850 became available. He got a phone call this morning that they have a handful of them and wanted an immediate decision whether or not I was going to take one because they had 20 people standing there...

I don't know if this is my fav or not. August was a disappointment. I'm in a terrible slump. Feeling like I'm spending way to much time, energy, thought and money on this "hobby." Think I'd like to take a vacation that doesn't include photographing ANYTHING. Just go somewhere nice and "be."

Just realized I can't do anything with the file in Lightroom. I looked at the properties and the camera was set on ISO 1250. It's been so long since I've used ViewNX2, I can't remember how to do anything but I did manage to convert the jpeg to a smaller file size for uploading.

Last night I was able to attend a Nikon D850 Launch Event at our local retailer. Shot through glass (fingerprint smudged, I might add), so I'm really pleased with the outcome on this one.

First attempt. Had only recently discovered this possibility and tried it out and was impressed.

In spite of all the tension and action, this was actually a really peaceful, almost slow-motion scene. I had never seen anything like this before, this synchronized feeding, almost like a dance.

Was hoping to get such an opportunity!

The shot on the right was taken while my cat decided to dart into the scene and photo bomb my tulip. How's that for bokeh? Can you even tell that's a cat? Ha ha :D
