Just to show how different we all are and show theres no real rule as such, heres my take. I crop so as to give more space into which direction the animal/bird/whatever is looking, if that makes sense?

This was my unscientific test with the 14-24 vs the the 16-35. This was about a 200% crop (possibly more, not got the full sized images anymore) both at f4. The 14-24 is better than the 16-35, but does not blow it out of the water, the 16-35 is a terrific lens. Image 1. 14-24mm Image 2. 16.35mm

Just had a look at the effect that the pro Brexit vote has had on Grey Market prices. As the £ has slumped its significantly pushed up prices overnight, so i'll be holding off any purchases for a while...
