Rich,
You'll like the Flashpoint's I have two of the 620M's. If you bought the Battery the instructions says to re-charge every 3 months if you do not use them regularly. I do bring the batteries if I go to a location but if I access to AC I will use them. Pick up combination light meter like the Sekonic's L358 if you can it easier to set the lighting up and be spot on.

I just put an end to my D500 craving for a while. It's my wive's birthday today, so I decided to get her something that she needs. The Ipad2 that she has been using for years is getting very much long in the tooth. I was going to get her the new 12 inch iPad pro, but for 800 dollars I'd rather get a real computer.
This is perfect for her. It's a 2 in 1 computer+tablet. A dell 13 inch laptop with touch screen that can be folded to use as a nice tablet. Got a good deal on it at Best Buy.

She loves it!!

Good thinking Pete. You have to get those wifeys something every now and again, so you have something to refer back to when they say "All you ever want to do is buy things for yourself." :loyal:

I just let my wife buy things for herself. Wait a minute; she just buys whatever she wants to and I can't stop her!

Lowepro Super Trekker AW. The older version, but in great condition and the price was a fraction of newer ones. My Pro Runner 450 wasn't big enough! I can finally take the cameras out in the field with lenses attached:D. Sorry about the crappy phone image

Got to "The Camera Store" today (yes that is the official name The Camera Store

Came home with a gold box - its always a good day that includes a new gold box eh? And a couple of extras.

D7100 DSC_4893.jpg

So, after a lot of back and forth, and re-thinking I finally pulled the trigger on a new D7100.
I think my experience shooting a D90 I picked up used recently and the sale price of $834 (CDN or about $640 US$) finally got me to open my wallet. Considered saving another $100 by buying reconditioned but my lovely wife said - "Just get the new one" - not arguing with her on that one.

The salesman assisting me seemed to be a well informed Nikon user. I looked hard at the D7200 At $1186 I had to consider what that extra $352 (42% more) would add for me. I think there is something about 'price point' thinking with one well under a grand and the other well over. Yes there are some tempting improvements and enhancements but in the end I decided in favour of the D7100. It is a big improvement over the D90 and D5100 DX cameras in my collection.

Of course a new camera needs a new bag.

Selected a Vanguard Kinray - 48 Vanguard Kinray 48 - Purple. I wanted a top loading backpack that would hold a camera with the 70-200 2.8 attached. My other backpacks do not. This one looks promising. And I do not yet have more than a dozen camera bags. And at 50% off I could live with purple. And I picked up a Thinktank "Lightening Fast" case designed for flash units - clearance for $15 from $45 - I'm a sucker for a deal too good to pass up.

My darling wife found some winter camera gloves "Freehands" by Optex - insulated with Thinsulate - a pre-requisite for any gloves in these parts. She's always looking out for my welfare - didn't want my fingers to get cold. And since it is the end of August winter is just around the corner (actually dropped to minus one last night - good bye flowers)

I think the D7200 is a great camera BUT I have a friend that shoots one locally and I really have not seen that much difference in it and the D7100. My wife shoots mine now and she is getting some great shots and I loved it when I shot it full time. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Well I just had a bit of very good fortune, in the form of a refund check from the power company from my wife and my account from the house. I got $633.00 and so I bought the things I needed for my D300s! :)

Oem mb-d10 Battery grip
3 d3 batteries to use in both my D700 and D300s grips
3 tray doors to go with the bigger batteries
D3 battery charger
I bracket for the battery grip for tripod mounting
GGS 3 screen protectors
16 gig extreme pro SD card
3 Bos tail straps( new version)

Also in a couple months I will buy myself some glasses! :)

So all in all I should be set, once my new gear gets delivered! What a wonderful stroke of good luck! :D

I wish you all good luck too my friends! :D

Congratulations Eduard, I have a friend at church that was a die hard Canon user. Sold everything in the last two weeks and bought the new Fuji... talking to him, it sounds like a great platform.

I don't think there is anything wrong with pretty much any camera being sold today. It comes down to features and what "clicks" (pun intended) with you as far as controls.

Well in the last week or so I posted a question about printers and got some good advice from here. I received it from B&H this last week... Now it is out of the box. I am anxious to try it out, but I am not in a hurry. Setting up stuff like this I have to really take my time, but I hope to have it running soon. Rebate paperwork will be in the mail Monday Morning!
