    Post your 'ALMOST' Photos..

Went to Cypress Gardens today. I was taking a few pictures of a wood duck with my static settings. Single point, single servo, 1/500 sec to give me the best chance for a sharp eye and low ISO. As I had my eye to the viewfinder, something spooked the bird and even though the settings were wrong...

Where can I get spare-parts ("AF sensor flex") for Nikon D300S

MPB.com It's one of the popular used camera vendors. Not sure if they would ship to Australia, or if it would be economically feasible to do so. Perhaps there is an equivalent available in your area.

    Nikon lens interchangability

Glad you're up and running. I assumed you were using the FTZ adapter. That's what most everyone is using.

    Woody's Hermosa Luz 2025

Two, actually. You must have been pretty close, even with a 750mm equivalent.

Where can I get spare-parts ("AF sensor flex") for Nikon D300S

Looking on MPB here in the states, I see a couple parts bodies listed for $40 and $65 respectively. They also have a working model in "good" condition for $175. Not sure what's available where you are. I know that international shipping can be a real deal killer. Perhaps this might be a good...

Well, the whole point of this was to get some different opinions. I believe that I like this last one best. I'm not real big on radically modifying a photo, but on occasion will do so. This version brings it down to the single thing that drew me to it, the juxtaposition of the different bird...

Post your favorite February 2025 shot

Had a hard time deciding. I had several more artistic images, but choose this one mainly because you just don't see this every day.

I remember the Spotone bottles well. Again, I have no problem with someone editing one of my posted images to show their thoughts on how it should be edited. OK, here's another iteration.

Blackstar, I don't mind at all. I guess I was going to the dark side, because that was the mood of the area for most of the morning's shoot. This was one of the first shots I did when we arrived. While the avocet picture above was taken later after the sun was up, and things were much brighter...

No need to apologize. I asked for honest feedback, and that is what I want. Sometimes I have an image that has an element or elements that appeal, but just seems to lack something. Sometimes it can be overcome by editing, and sometimes it just belongs in the digital equivalent of the round file...

Yes, I am familiar with where it is. I went ahead and pulled it down to a little lower than I thought would be the lowest I would be happy with. To me, this looks too dull.

I lightened the blue, twice, in LR, and it still looks about the same when posted here.

This is an image I took this morning. I like it, but not sure the best way to edit it. Here are a couple iterations. I have no issue with honest opinions about. Just don't say anything bad about my cat. Here is the slightly cropped full aspect color version. Here is a panoramic...

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets

Went to a new place for me this morning. Got up at 3:45 and drove an hour and a half to meet the club at a Wildlife Management Area south of here. A rather cold morning for southern SC with temps in the upper 20s. I need to get a pair of gloves, or a carbon fiber tripod. When we got there...

Default sorting of content by most recent?

As Needa posted, it's a single click if you click on the date listed in the far right hand column. That will take you directly to the latest post for that thread.

Will this work on my Z30?

I understand having to stay within your means. Keep in mind that since you are working with a crop frame body, a 400mm lens will give you the reach of a 600mm lens on a full frame body. I see that MPB has some Sigma 100-400 for sale for around $500. This is a much newer lens and is listed by...

    Nikon lens interchangability

Sorry you are having this much trouble with your lens. Try going into the setup menu and input the data for this lens in the "Non CPU Lens Data" option. Here is the section of the manual that covers that. This may give you access to some of the features you currently cannot access. Non cpu...

Will this work on my Z30?

Since you haven't purchased it yet, I would suggest looking for something a little newer. What are you looking to shot with it?

Solved: D810 Tethered Shooting and Dell PC problem

I know it would be a serious investment, but one of the newer cameras that has focus peaking might be a simpler solution. I frequently use that on my Z cameras for manual focusing taking macro shots.
