I have the harness. Not sure I would like the sling, but that is a matter of personal preference.

If you find your camera/lens combo too heavy to carry around, or dangle from a neck strap, consider something like the Cotton carrier harness system. I recently purchased one, and really like it. My long lens combo runs around 6 1/2 lbs. This doesn't sound like a lot until you try carrying it...

    New Member from Arizona

I felt the same way about the EVF when I bought my first mirrorless. After a couple weeks I was completely used to it, and hated going back the the optical viewfinder of my DSLR. I really like the exposure preview you get with the electronic viewfinder. When I am shooting a difficult subject, it...

    Looking for advice

You're right. For some reason I was always under the impression it wasn't an S line, and didn't take the time to verify.

    Looking for advice

I have the 24-70 F4. It is a very good lens. The only down side is that it is a little short on the long side. For around the same price, new, you can get the 24-120 that BF mentioned. The 24-70 is an S series lens, which is Nikon's premium version. The 24-120 is not. Having said that, word on...

Another day at Cypress Garden. Mom had her babies out today. I believe this one had 10. There was another woodie female that only had two.

    F mount lens on a Z mount

Yes it does. I used my F mount 200-500 F5.6 for the better part of a year on my Z8. Object detection worked just fine.

What cameras are the Artemis II crew using?

Here's a great video about some of the pictures taken.

What cameras are the Artemis II crew using?

Well, the images that were taken of the earth or moon with the sun shining on them, they won't have stars. If you expose for the sunlit planet, it will be approximately F16 at 1/100 sec at ISO 100. The EXIF data I looked at for the one with the crescent earth and the moon in the foreground was...

You are correct, my mistake. I saw the 5 and my brain filled in the Z.

What cameras are the Artemis II crew using?

I got curious when I saw an article about them getting some never before taken shots of the earth. I looked it up and they have 3 cameras on board. 2 Z5s and 1 Z9. I'm not surprised they have Nikons but I would have chosen a handful of Z8s. Or at least Z7iis. I'm sure they could afford...

    Marilynne's Wetlands and Other Stuff - 2026

We used to eat mulberries as well. I never cared that much for them, but a growing boy will eat anything. My mom used to scold us when we raided the mulberry tree in the vacant lot next door, because we would get mulberry stains on our clothes while climbing the tree.

    Marilynne's Wetlands and Other Stuff - 2026

I remember climbing the loquat trees as a kid and pigging out on the fruit. Not many people ate them, but they were popular ornamental trees in Daytona.

Which lens is the best for video shooting?

I would think a lot depends on what kind of video you are going to be shooting. If you are going to shoot wildlife, for example, a telephoto would likely be in order. For video the D3500 max's out at 1080 60 fps. I don't shoot video, but I would imagine that even the 18-55 kit lens would not...

EN-EL25/EN-EL25A batteries, why doesn't Nikon do this?

The K&F was ordered at the same time as the camera with the Nikon battery included. Not all aftermarket batteries are created equal. The problem is discerning the good ones from the bad ones. That, and having an update rendering them useless.

EN-EL25/EN-EL25A batteries, why doesn't Nikon do this?

She says she gets more shots from the aftermarket battery than the Nikon. Way too early to tell about the number of cycles.

Constant dust issue with the ZFc

I can't help you with the lens part of the equation, but I can say that dust on the sensor is a common issue with mirrorless. The sensor is exposed to the environment every time you remove the lens. I understand that the operation of the sensor creates a static charge which attracts dust to the...

    Nikon D600 WIFI SD Cards

If it works, you may be disappointed with the speed. I tried downloading over in camera wifi on my Z7ii, and it was extremely slow.
