Welcome aboard Max, good to have more members join in. What camera do you use as this might help with the advice you require for better settings to improve your shots.

I suppose someone has to live there. Nice neck of the woods when the weather is on your side. Some cracking seascapes over on the east coast. Great to hear from you and have fun.

    Nikon D5300

Hi and welcome aboard. Lots of good advice above. The best bit is remember that you are using a crop sensor camera so you just add half of what your lens says, ie 100mm will be 150 and your 300 will be equivalent to 450mm other than that have fun with whatever glass you have before splashing...

Where do you draw the line with editing?

I shoot both 100% of the time, yes it can slow things down but with my style i have plenty of time between shots and yes it's nice to compare the results with SOOC jpeg that used the camera's settings.

Where do you draw the line with editing?

In the good old days, way in my past with my trusty old FUjICA ST 605N fully manual ( how i miss it ) i did some very grainy iso 800 black and white work and nearly always printed on grade 5 very course/harsh paper, the atmosphere in those shots was unreal. Sometimes just leave the noise to do...

Where do you draw the line with editing?

Great subject to open up. Expect lots of differing views on this. Some people think of post processes as part of the shot and others like myself keep it to a minimum if any. Personally i do very little, may be crop or resize with a little exposure reset, thats about it for me and my style of...

    New here from Romania.

Just asked Google a question,,, i want a camera for low light photography with ibis and high resolution Top choices for low-light, high-resolution cameras with In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) include the 61MP Sony A7R V, which manages high-res noise with AI processing, and the 45.7MP...

If you want to go FF the d600/610 is considered the lightest with 24mp, no ibis though.

Welcome aboard, some very atmospheric shots there, well done considering your limitations. Some good suggestions have been put out previously. With your limited kit and budget may i suggest a sturdy lightweight tripod and a remote release to extend your exposure and lower your ISO. Any budget...
