Post your focus stacking photos here

Tried different focus stacking programs - CS6 and Zerene. The CS6 did well, but the Zerene did a better job. Will learn how to use the program further and try out a few others before I settle in. Images were made with 17 shots on a gorilla pod. CS6 - Had to do a bit of manual a splicing in of...

What made a good film camera body?

I have used film camera's as I have plenty of age to have been around, but never a film slr. So what made a good film slr body verse an entry level slr? I ask because as I think about it with digital, a better digital body gets me better ISO noise levels, often times a faster frames per second...

Day 163 Bad Day - For my egg. On day one of our elementary school photography class we discussed the rule of thirds and the kids homework assignment was to shoot a picture using the rule of thirds. Some kids really did quite well at it. Today, I sent the kids out onto the playground with their...

Day 162 Tamron 200-500mm vs 150-600mm - A clear knockout! Here it is at 100% minus dow sizing the 600mm a bit to overlay the 500mm, but the 600mm at full reach is clearly a cut above the 500mm. Shot on Nikon D7100 with a monopod. Radar domes are more than a mile away and a mile up.

    What 4 years can do

A photographer has been capturing the rot (my words) of Detroit. Detroit was once a great city and it is disgusting to see it crumble. See How Quickly It Took Detroit?s Neighborhoods to Change in Then-and-Now Photos From Google Street View | TheBlaze.com

Day 157 - Star Party All this week I have been attending an astronomy class with Wendy. To conclude the class we did a star party (in the city unfortunately) with our new telescopes Orion SkyQuest XT6. Surprisingly, this ~$300 telescope is amazing capable. For the first time I viewed the rings...

Day 153 Kodak Flower & Stump This summer I will be teaching a basic photography class. The elementary students at our school have loved looking at the Moab families photography. This is always followed up by the groan that they just don't have a good camera. Of course all of us around here with...
