Post your "Blood Moon" eclipse shots

Anybody remember that Blood Moon party last night? It must have been a rush because I have been feeling it all day. However, now that I am awake again, I went back and edited my photo one more time and even titled it with the right day after pulling an Aussie trick of trying to be ahead of...

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

Day 105 Blood Moon It's easier to make a blood moon than to shoot one. The actual event is not so cleanly red. And not to bed.

    Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse tonight

This was much tougher than I thought. Had to make changes on the fly as one moment the moon is too bright and the next it's too dark. Here is my best from the night. And now to send me off to bed.

    Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse tonight

@Tyler You can mouse over my picture to see the exif data for setting your camera up. Set the white balance to Sunlight. If you are tripod mounting I use the timer delay so that I get zero movement of the camera.

Mark this date free in your Calander

@markrez That does look good. I rescind my comment. It may be that mine is just a little soft.

Mark this date free in your Calander

For reference, I just went out and did some test shots of the moon for WB. 4760K seems to dial it in perfect. Now my thought is that I should leave it locked in there to truly capture the color shift. I also scouted out a spot in a "bowl" where I will be shielded from any wind and surrounding...

    Post your Lightning photos

Who would have thought my second lightning shot of the year would come just 17 minutes into the next day. Much better lightning display this time.

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

Day 103 Lightning Got today out of the way just 17 minutes into Sunday. Another wave of storms started booming as I crawled into bed. Quick check of the weather app on my phone and I couldn't pass it up - back outside for another round of lightning shots. This time things were a bit better. The...

    Post your Lightning photos

We haven't had lightning since last summer. So when I saw that first flash of lightning I was already grabbing up the camera, camera rain coat, and the tripod. Of fifty images this was the best. As is the normal, our lighting tends to stay within the clouds and this was the best I could get...

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

Continued... Day 102 Lightning First lightning shot of the year. Our lightning usually runs within the cloud so this is the best I could get of fifty images.

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

Day 102 This one didn't turn out the best, but I just love all the colors. Unfortunately the cop left right after my shot so I didn't get a second.

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

Day 101 And on the 101st day I photographically crashed and burned. Tried doing a focus stack in CS6 through the Edit/Scripts/etc... Some parts turned out amazing. Other parts hit a brick wall. Not sure what happened. On the close up you can see at the bottom of these green flowers there is a...
