    The Moabs West Coast Drive

In between showers the wife and I ran out for some pictures. There is a kite festival trying to get started. I found these to boys playing with their kite. Kind of seems age is irrelevant with boys and toys. Hoping that all these clouds might part and give me some kind of sunset to shoot.

Day 178 Oregon Coast We arrived on the coast with plenty of rain. In between showers we ran out and grabbed a couple of pictures. There is a kite festival trying to get going. Here is a photo that no matter how old guys get we still play with toys. A captain that appears to have lost his...

    The Moabs West Coast Drive

Day 1 (Yesterday): MLady went to pick up our road trip econo rental car. Turns out all the $14 econo cars had been rented out so they have us a free upgrade - 400 HP Dodge Challenger muscle car. This is truly significant because I previously had a 1970 Challenger and sadly had to sell it when I...

@BackdoorHippie Ok, so you called me out on a sloppie photo that I could have done better, but I was lazy. That bugged me because there is no excuse for not taking the time to round out our skills and HDR is not one of the skills I would say I possess. Sure, I can do it, but I don't do it well...

Day 175 Gawdy HDR in the park seriously overcooked... just because I felt like it. And just a picture in the park.

Help in buying a Macro Lens

90mm Tamron would be my recommendation. Keeps you back about 11 inches so you're not casting shadow or invading personal space. The lens is very sharp and the price is great. Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di 1:1AF Macro Lens for Nikon AF AF272NII700

    Sunrise in NW Montana

When shooting a photo we generally break it up into thirds. If you are showing the sky then one third foreground and the two thirds sky. Conversely, if we are showing the ground as the point of interest then one third sky. We try to avoid splitting 50/50. In your original photo your horizon is...

curious on this technique by mike kelley

This was a bit of playing, but I suspect similar to this image he stacks all the layers (stationary camera) and then erases himself out (like I did my daughter) rather than cloning himself out. This looks like fun to try and experiment with on a small scale first.

@Krs_2007 @BackdoorHippie In my mind, and in my first ~4 months of owning the camera it was an issue. I was hitting the buffer time and again shooting soccer, baseball, paint drying, etc... If you ask me now, and my skills have improved immensely with shooting sports and the timing that goes...
