    Hark's 2015 and 2016

Another from January 1st--the sky looked so unusual yesterday. In the background you can see the dark clouds. Off to my right and somewhat behind me, the sun was shining. The Circular Polarizer enhanced the sky a little, but for the most part, it really did look like this.

    Hark's 2015 and 2016

They must have. Since this is the first time I've ever gotten so close to a flock of seagulls, I had no idea how they behave. What I do know is a gaggle of geese don't get spooked like this! Lol! Then can I claim one of jdeg's prizes for finishing the 366? ;) Will be going back through the...

    Hark's 2015 and 2016

Thanks kindly, Paul. I've spent the last 3-1/2 years taking drama photos for the local high school, and with hundreds of images per shoot to go through and edit, I haven't spent much taking photos for myself. I learned a great deal volunteering for them, but sadly I needed to make the choice to...

    Hark's 2015 and 2016

Being a 24/7 caregiver, my time is limited; however, my intention is to get out more frequently this year to shoot than I did in 2015. This was taken today at a local Community Park. It's the first time I've seen such a huge flock of seagulls on land. The Delaware River isn't too far away so...

Post your favorite or best shot you took in 2015.

Surprisingly there were still colors on the leaves for the last day in October. I've been back and forth between this photo and another one taken at the same time, but ultimately this is my favorite for the year.

    Focus Rails--what to look for

Since Pretzel wrote about his newly acquired Sigma macro lens, I've been thinking more about macro photography myself. One thing I lack is a focus rail. What are features to consider? And does it matter what type of tripod head is being used? I own 2 different tripods that take completely...

    Walmart frames

In one of Rick M 's threads, I mentioned how Walmart has some nice frames for decent prices. Walmart's frames may not be conducive for those looking to sell framed photos, but if anyone is looking to give a framed photo as a gift, some of these are a very nice quality. All photos are sooc from...

    Returning refurbished D7100

The command and subcommand dials work similarly, but the buttons on the back (left side) of the bodies are in different locations. Here is a screen shot of those buttons (D610). When comparing a D750 and D7100, those buttons are in the same order. One night while photographing the drama...

plastic mount kit lens / repair ??

@rocketman122 recently wrote a thread on a plastic mount that continually broke. Not sure if he's changed the mounts himself. The metal mounts are the way to go if they make one to fit your lens...

    Shutter Speed for the D750

I'm having a brain fart. :concern: Do I remember reading you auto-tuned your lenses while they were wide open near the long end? I wrote a post about that after reading an Amazon review where the guy said to auto-tune that way. Logically it makes sense. Yet I thought @BackdoorHippie...

Monthly Assignments -- What do you think?

I'm a little late to the party. ;) As others mentioned, I came here because Nikonites is a Nikon forum. There are scads of photography forums out there as well as scads of photo contests that are open to many manufacturers, but there are few contests dedicated to Nikon cameras. When @jdeg...

    Looking for free non-photography website

I'd like to set up a free website for my neighborhood watch but have no clue which freebie sites are good. I created a Google web site only to have Google disable it. I tried linking local news articles on the main page, but apparently they don't allow links from other urls to be used. :( In...

    Color help please.

Be sure to check out the color of the area I circled. The reflection has a greenish color to it which reminds me of mold. I can understand the 2 trees/bushes having a greenish reflection, but not the entire thing. Sorry to post a screen shot but just wanted you to be aware.

    Customizing and Printing Wall Calendars

After searching the forum, I didn't see a thread dedicated to various companies that print wall calendars. What company have you used for printing wall calendars? Please feel free to add any specific info on a company you've used. Here are some suggestions of info to include: 1. Is it printed...
