Remote shutter release for Nikon Z5ii

The Nikon mc-dc-3 is listed as being compatible with the Z5ii and the Z50ii. This is the link to it on the B&H website. If you click on the "compatibility" drop down it shows these two cameras as compatible. The Z5 uses a different style plug.

    Godox V860II-N TTL Flash

I'm starting to see a few more insects in my wildflower plot in the back yard. I don't have the flower cover there that will likely come in another few weeks or a month or so. Late June through early September seem to be the prime times. The weather is currently fairly warm, but I guess the...

    Godox V860II-N TTL Flash

Looking good. The one that's mounted on the flash looks a lot like the AK I have. What material did you use for the body of the diffuser? My AK came with a small reflector that clips on and fits under the lens to reflect back up provide fill lit, as you mentioned. The images look very good...

Pulled the trigger on a Z50ii for the Pup

Well, I got one with my Z8 that I purchased earlier this year, so I hoped she would get one with this camera. I also hoped that they would use the same battery as my other Z cameras, alas, no.

Pulled the trigger on a Z50ii for the Pup

Well, it arrived today. She had a chance to look at it, and power it up, making initial changes. No chance to actually take any pictures. I got a bit of a look. It's about the same size and weight as the Z5, and very similar control layout. Build quality looks better than the lower end DSLRs...

Pulled the trigger on a Z50ii for the Pup

My daughter has had some intermittent issues with her D5600 in the last couple months. We decided that she probably needs to replace it and perhaps do some upgrading, although she really doesn't particularly want to learn a new system. She also came to the conclusion that she was going to have...

New to Nikon DSLR from an old Pentax film guy.

Sounds a lot like me. Dad was into photography and gave me my first camera, an Argus C4 rangefinder. He never got into the mechanics of photography, but I do remember spending time watching him develop B&W. I went on to love B&W and set up a home darkroom. Digital has changed everything for me...

Any tips on pre release capture?

My bad. It was a 600 F6.3 PF. I guess I was just dreaming for a second while typing. A little while back I saw a lady at Magnolia who had over $30,000 worth of gear with her. I love great gear, but there are limits. I'm doing my best to convince myself that my 200-500 is just as good as the...

Any tips on pre release capture?

Making a little progress. I went back over to Magnolia this morning. Unfortunately, shortly after I got to the north 40, the clouds rolled in and that took it's toll on the ISOs. I did remember to keep my shutter speeds up. I also hauled my tripod with me. My shoulder wasn't happy by the time I...

A better look at the babies at Magnolia this morning.

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets

Thanks. I'm trying hard to improve my photography. I went for many years in the film days without making much progress. The digital age of photography has made quite a difference in my images.

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets

Got up early and headed over to Magnolia. The birds were very active. Was talking with a friend from the CNPA and this guy flew by. I just threw the camera to eye and tracked and fired. I checked the first couple of the string on the back of the camera and thought the Z8 didn't lock and track...

Any tips on pre release capture?

Got a couple more this morning. I need to go back to Magnolia and set up with a tripod. This looks like a great place to get some small birds in flight early in the morning. These were just a couple quick handheld pre-captures. I had my shutter speed set to 1/2000 for some other shooting I was...
