Our store on Main St didn't have much walk in traffic this past week. I'm not sure why.......

In November of 1981 friends and I visited busy Viaduct Jct. in Cumberland, MD where the former B&O mainline splits to Chicago and St. Louis. That's ND Tower, demolished in 1997. These are all Kodachromes, shot with my Nikkormat FTn. As I recall, the entire weekend was heavily overcast. :(

Wow those are a great set of the pics from the Chessie days Sandpatch. Man I love that B&O GP30, what an engine. Now that you are up to speed on the wayback machine are you feeling younger. If so I may need to use it a bit. I'd like to knock 20 years off my old self. :encouragement:

Thank you Chuck. :) I must admit that a bit of sadness comes with scanning these slides, realizing that 35-40 years has passed by so quickly. Nonetheless, I'm enjoying the process of discovery as I work though the stacks of slides and am enjoying sharing them here as well.

Time passes by so fast. Not to worry lots more things to do & trains to catch. :encouragement:

Looking forward to seeing some trains. Next week I get a cadillac removed from my left eye & two weeks later my right eye gets done. Man I'm looking forward to having decent vision again.

How the heck did you ever manage to get a Cadillac in both eyes? I would have a hard time getting even one Cadillac in either eye! I think you are actually having the cataracts removed, right!

Oh my! What is the recovery time for surgery of this sort? Is this the sort of process where they remove your original "lens" and insert another?

Yes I'm getting new lenses. They will be for distance & I'll have to wear reading glasses for close up stuff. Recovery is supposed to be pretty quick. My eye doc says I can drive the second day after the surgery.

You are right Brent cataracts, but my smart arse self is always making corny jokes.
