Thanks for the update. I'm guessing Celestino got his bell rung. Once he recovers let's hope he now knows to stop look & listen for trains.

How the heck did you ever manage to get a Cadillac in both eyes? I would have a hard time getting even one Cadillac in either eye! I think you are actually having the cataracts removed, right!

Well on Wednesday I had the first Cadillac removed from my left eye & a nice lens put in it's place. Wow!!! I can see again & oh man colors are so vibrant. Now to have the other Cadillac removed, oh boy! :p

To keep this on topic.... The Cadillac of locomotives EMD E8. Shot with an Olympus 35RC TriX. ;)

Glad your eye surgery went well. I had both of my eyes done several years ago and it is so nice not to have to wear glasses or contacts all the time which I did for over 50 years. While I still have to deal with reading glasses, I am very happy with my "bionic eyes".

I'll have to wear readers too, but I'm OK with that. What a world we live in, pop out the bad Cadillac & put a new lens in its place. A day later & I'm good to go, wow!

Re: Images from the Museum of the American Railroad, Frisco, TX

My goodness, they've amassed quite a collection at that museum. Cool stuff for certain and thanks for your photos! I read within the link that you provided that they're working to restore an Alco PA-1, one of the most loved models of diesel locomotives ever built. Theirs was sent from the Smithsonian Institution. A massive amount of work to be done on it no doubt.

October 1994 at Q Tower in Hardman, WV. This remote tower was closed in June of 1998 and demolished. My wife and I were invited upstairs by a friendly towerman who invited my wife to throw the "armstrong" levers and set up the switches and signals for this train. Under his cautious stewardship (and his muscle), the route was set up. Fun times. :)

From December 1984 at Montgomery, AL, SCL SD-45 2020 (hey, that's this year!) is at the ready. Those cool-looking flared radiators at the rear made the SD-45 a fan favorite.

I like the framing of that shot Sandpatch. Well done! You sure are getting the hang of the wayback machine. :encouragement:

Thank you. We stopped in Pulaski, VA on a family trip north and found a nice playground adjacent to the station. While my wife and child enjoyed the playground, I kicked around trackside and found the knuckle boom loader and a distant headlight. In an instant, the composition fell into place. The WC unit was an unexpected bonus. :)

From April 1980, looking out from an upper floor of the Santa Fe Railway's General Office in Chicago at the Illinois Central's lakefront mainline. That's Grant Park beyond and the Adler Planetarium at the upper right.
