Just a sample of today's walk by the lake with my D610 + Nikkor 200-500 + Kenko 1.4 TC

All shot using my Jobu, "micro gimbal" attachment on my monopod. Works jim dandy.

IMHO the nikon is sharper right through its focal length, has better vr, nicer colour and contrast, slightly smoother bokeh and more consistently accurate with its af.
A shot taken with the nikon at 500mm can be cropped to 600mm+ and beat the same shot taken with the sigma at 600mm.
The nikon performs better wide open than the sigma.
The nikon also has a nicer build and ergonomics.
I used the sigma for a year before jumping ship.

Everything he said also applies to me except I went from the big Tamron to the Nikon + TC 1.4 III:eek::encouragement:

Psst. Anyone want to buy a Tamron?

First day to play with this new lens fine tuned AF, shutter speed should been a little faster but just getting a fill for the lens, also used remote flash for this it was in the shade.
