I will keep the may challenge in mind, and look for a something to shoot for it my friend. :)

You have faced several struggles all at once, Bill, so it is no wonder you are overwhelmed with grief and depression. Losing a loved one is in itself a painful loss. Couple that with losing the house, moving to a different place that doesn't yet feel like home, plus the additional struggles of depression and all your fears would make a challenging situation for anyone to face. Please be sure to discuss with your counselor what measures you can take to keep you moving forward.

What we don't want to hear about anymore is you not taking photos. The May monthly challenge is a nice segue to getting you back into photography shooting with your 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. ;)

Well here is another update my friends! I think I got all the big stuff moved, and hopefully there isn't much small stuff left needing moved! :)

Some kitchen stuff and maybe a little dry goods, then a few odds and ends. But I will be sure to go through the house to make sure I have everything I am keeping.

I tell you, my friends here on Nikonites have been a true joy to know and a blessing for me! Thank you all!:D

Though you can't see it, the church does have a church Bell. A loud one by the way!lol :)

The clouds weren't being very helpful, and so the sky is not very interesting. If the day had been brighter, I would have put the polarizer filter on to give the sky a richer blue in-between the clouds. I may try it again sometime when I can get a better shot, or more than once to getting different views of the same church.:)

I have to be very careful, since the speed limit of the road I have to cross is 55mph and you can't see them coming due to the curve of the hill on both sides until they are right on top of you! Lol :)

Down the road there is ranch land, that I'm thinking of trying to get a shot of, if I can get off the road enough to be safe from getting my truck hit. I am considering trying it tomorrow after my group session with my phycologist. But I have one concern. Bringing my D800e into group might cause others to stress out a little. But since group is suppose to get us out of our comfort zone a bit, I am sorta liking the idea. Besides it is comforting having my Nikon, drawing attention away from me a bit.lol :)

It may rain tomorrow, but I may try to get a shot anyway since both camera and lens are weather sealed. Lol :D

Due to my wide angle lens being the 14-24mm, it doesn't take a CPL. So the polarizer I have that will work is square and requires a filter holder, so it is both bigger and bulkier.

Anyway having on all the time is not really practical, and I have to be extra careful due to the cost too.

But I will think on it and consider putting it on more often. This issue is why quite a few photographers buy other lenses even though this lens is awesome. They want to screw on a CPL and go, to avoid this issue.

Try the polarizer anyway Bill. I leave mine on whenever I am shooting out of doors .

Well no photos today due to the rain. It was pouring when I came home from group, so I decided I was right not to take my camera with me in the rain this morning.lol :)

Bill, don't be shy in group. Let it all hang out. You will feel better from the experience and you will inspire others to do the same.

If you are not comfortable leaving your camera in the truck (I LOVE the center console for this in my car), put it in a semi-soft case and take it in with you.
But don't use it as a crutch to hide behind in group. You are there for healing.

And don't be afraid to cry. It is part of the healing process. That is what the boxes of tissues are there for.

I am a cryin' fool.

So far it hasn't exactly been a group, since again there was only one person there with me plus the phycologist. I made them laugh when I asked if I was going to meet the group one at a time, and who would I meet next month. Lol :)

But I don't remember seeing tissues, and if I talked about my wife very much, I would be crying. But the group is about our mental issues, and my grief is just one of mine. I think the group will help me over time, but I don't expect any fast results.

Anyway I will keep going with hopes that it will help over time.:)

I was just joking about the crutch, because it would draw attention towards me taking me out of my comfort zone. Also I can't leave a $3000.00 Nikon with a $1500.00 lens in my truck ever. Other than home, it stays with me if I take it anywhere. Home is the only place I would leave it.

I no longer have a real small camera bag, and a backpack is too much to haul into my group sessions.

But I get your point buddy!:D

Well it looks like the weather is going to continue to be wet for the rest of the week. So I will find other things to do besides photography, unless I see a good shot in-between showers or storms!lol ;)

I still have my largest spider print to move over here, but I want a dry day before doing it. A drop of water can ruin it, and it was expensive with the backing too.

I am loving my 14-24mm lens so far, and lightroom has been working awesome in post processing! But it is very slow to start up, and I haven't figured out how to add another photo to process from inside that app. Any suggestions welcome!:)

I suggest starting a new thread in the appropriate section on this query. Probably get more feedback.

I know my friend.:) This thread is where I post what I am doing or even thinking about. I was just thinking out loud so to speak, not really expecting anything. Lol :)

Sometime if I don't figure it out on my own, I will post the question in the computer section. But I am not in a hurry, as I really enjoy learning about photography at an easy going pace.

But thank you very much for trying to help my friend! :)
