The color shot has been HDR'ed and the B/W is a little too dark for my taste.

How-ever, I like the B/W best because the last dog to visit THAT tree probably saw the same thing that we are looking at now!

There is an inherent honesty in B/W that I find very appealing.

Of course, YOUR mileage may vary. :p

Sorry Pete, but the color shot was NOT HDR'ed. It's been filtered with the "plastic wrap" filter in CS5. The color shot came out of the D90 in jpeg and I didn't even saturate it more. I do find the B&W a little dark, but it helps to show the sun's ray on the leaf. I tried to get it lighter but I found it lacked character… But hey, it's just a picture…
Thanks for the comment.

AH! I didn't recognize that filter. My bad. And its not just a picture. Its YOUR picture. Its a slice of your life, how-ever small.

When it comes to the point to where I am just taking pictures, I'll sell my gear and take up knitting.

I'm quite proud of this pic. This was taken from outside the green house in Sherbrooke, no retouching besides a little contrast and sharpening.

Here are a few from yesterday that I didn't have time to work on last night. All taken with the D90 and the "plastic" 28-80 3.3-5.6.

A little early, but I'll have this one at least so if nothing better comes along this will be it for today. This is a deliberate out of focus shot of piano tuning pins heavily filtered.

Daytime job. Here are the tools used to restring a piano. I just finished the treble strings and will do the bass this afternoon.

Got my 17-55 2.8 back from the repair shop today and had to do a few with it. Nice lens. These were taken with the D90.

Back from a splendid holiday, I'll start posting some of my pics. I'll start with my favorites and go down from there. It was taken in a kind of cavern where a Mayan family (chaman's kids) gave a little performance for us tourists. The light was weak but nice. Feel free to comment.

Thanks Jen, the first one is the one I prefer too. I didn't get too many that were not blurred. I didn't want to go over iso 1000 but I ended up shooting quite a bit at 1/25th or even 1/13th… and these kids were moving. But the mood was there and I enjoyed taking these pics.

Here's one of the little brother being kissed and hugged by his older sister. I can feel the love between these two even it the shot is a little blurred.

These children portraits are just wonderful, Marcel, especially yesterday's. You captured a candid and special moment in spectacular light --not easy to do with kids!
Welcome back, btw. Can't wait to see more pics of your trip!
