The tuner alone preserves the tone… But sometimes it's too late, and, they don't dig graves for pianos (unfortunately).

Well today's piano turned out much nicer than yesterday's. I was also trying out my new (used) Nikkor 105, f2.5. Combined with the D700, this lens creates the WOW factor. It's sharp and almost magical.

I'd like to introduce my sister Louise:

Ah yes........I see the family resemblance right away. ;)

Marcel, in French we say "je vous present" to someone......in English we say"I'd like to introduce". Just thought I'd throw that in there for ya. :)

Down here we'd be saying,"Thats Louie sittin' by the pianer. Hey Louie, go git us a beer!"

That is a proper redneck introduction. :p

Not to compete with Rick "axeman", but this cat came up on the piano bench while I was tuning it's Mistress' piano.
1/160s f2, 55mm 1.2 manual focus Nikkor with the D700 @ 3200 iso.

No problem Marcel. You have done a far better job than I have. I'm just posting filler photos to keep my 365 alive. Having a tough week, last thing on my mind right now is my photography.

It looks to me like this is a Sphynx Sphynx (cat) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia or a mix of a Sphynx and something else. I bet this stop was fun with this guy / gal around lol

Pete's post below could be right. Both breads are close. I'm just guessing. Pete your our walking encyclopedia so I'm going to go with your choice over mine. Either way neat cat and a great shot. Thanks for sharing Marcel.

Maybe this will be my last shot of fall this year. Seems there's less and less of them hanging on.
Have a great weekend!

Thanks James, the winter tires have been on for a week now.
I tried the same shot converted to B&W and I'm not sure which one I prefer. Opinions welcome...

The color shot has been HDR'ed and the B/W is a little too dark for my taste.

How-ever, I like the B/W best because the last dog to visit THAT tree probably saw the same thing that we are looking at now!

There is an inherent honesty in B/W that I find very appealing.

Of course, YOUR mileage may vary. :p
