That ASUS would be nice if you could only figure out how to install OSX. Maybe Ubuntu! Then it would really scream

My young weedhopper.....if you could only begin to see the profit margin Mac has on each device...you would begin to understand why I don't like the apple ripoff.

But if you buy enough hardware each year, they will give you a 5% discount. Or maybe it was only 3%....
I have two Macs.. one I bought in 2011 and the other one in 2005 Both are strong. I used the 2011 more now. I just sold the first one I bought in still working order for about the same price I paid for it. Macs hold their values.yeah....used to be my computers would last 6 to 8 years....now we're lucky to get 5 years out of them....I can't wait for flash memory to drop in prices....i wouldn't mind having a 1 TB hard drive with flash memory.
The smile faces was an indicator for tongue in cheek. But...
I was a microsoft fanboy from 1989 until 2005. Best os they ever came out with IMO was DOS and 2000 Pro. Apple just works Again IMO. I don't mind paying a little more for a lot less frustration. And if you look at some of the new prices now for laptops, tablets, and desktops... they are almost as much as what apple sells for. Except for the Mac Pro. But you get what you get with it... and its for serious number crunchers who need that kind of horse power. Maybe photostacking 20+ D800 raw files or something
I agree the profit margin is high. But Apple isn't the only one out there making that high a profit margin.

I don't want to turn this thread into a fanboy mac vs microsoft... so lets just say to each his own.
I'm going to pick up a Nikon d3300 this week with the money I just sold my original mac with.
valid points but I only paid $1000 for a screaming fast laptop....and that includes Micro-turd getting their chunk of change out of me. I hate Windows 8 but don't like osx even more. I'd go with a 3rd party if a great one was to come along.....not a fan of any operating systems.....I started with Windows 3 a long, long time ago....back when I had to learn a bit about DOS....(which stands for 'D-irty O-ld S-ystem). I know you were kidding...tablets are the newest rippoffs....and there are now a lot of laptops where you can't even replace the batteries....the whole computer thing is going down the crapper. Sony is even getting out of making laptops, and they used to be the best out there. Enough of the rant. Sorry, got carried away! I tried to 'like' your post but got no like button on your post...website probably designed on a Mac! <ggg>
The macbook air I plan to buy this fall is 999.00 with my discount. I had one last year and loved it. 8 gigs of flash ram. it has 256gig of SSD hard drive. I hook up a 1TB drive to it for saving work. It really is a screaming fast machine. I'll look at the macbook pro in the fall too. But the air does all that I needed it to do the way it was set up. My iMac is the 27in screen so I can use the monitor with my laptop.
Anyway... ASUS is a great machine with only one flaw installed on it.

PS. There is another flash left on the listing, and there are more lenses left too, in case anyone is interested!![]()
Bill my dear friend, why you don't start to use the gear you have. Using is cheaper than be a collector of Nikon products LOL, you've got more than me,
