Thanks, Marcel. I'm still experimenting with this method. Apparently, you have to be quite precise with the focus. I seem to always miss the first one . . . probably because I get in too much of a hurry. Doesn't help to have mosquitoes around. LOL

oooh nice! So soft looking. I can almost smell the fragrance from here. Beautiful composition. Did you use a flash far off to the right of this shot? Nice lighting in the overall shot.

In cases when it doesn't rain, I invested in a new fangled invention called a garden hose...

My rose bushes would not have made it at all if it weren't for "garden hoses". But our well water is very alkaline, and while it keeps them alive, it takes a good rain shower to make them happy

Well, extremely nicely done then Helene. It's well balanced and the color is just perfect to balance the softness and almost the perfume of the flower.

Of all the photos I took today, I liked this one the best because of Satchi's reaction. Technically it's really off . . . poor focus, underexposed, noise. But I wanted to salvage it. It was getting dark and he heard a hound baying over the hill and it distressed him as you can see from his stance. He was seriously contemplating leaping into my lap. Evidently he is not the dog to ward off the boogie man.
