I was playing around with Photoshop, I'm still very much of a novice, and turned one of shots of the Marbry Mill into a sketch. This is so cool, many of my friends thought that it was one of my drawing since I do like to sketch.

That turned out excellent!

This is not necessarily one of my "best" photos, but it was one of the first ones I took with the D5100 and the clarity of the little hairs on the plant gave me an indication of what the camera will be able to do.

I suppose I should have blown this off a bit but danged if I could see the fluff with my naked eye before hand. LOL Just got this back from the watchmaker. All original (outside of the band) early 50's Hamilton.

Just messing around looking for photos during a walk this morning. I kind of liked the angles, singular color and shadows, so tripped the shutter.

Did you happen to notice the six or was it seven faces in the windows? I got goosebumps looking at this.

It's interesting that you mention this because I thought briefly about how ghostly faces in that window would make for an intriguing and perhaps frightening picture. Though I hadn't realized that faces might already be apparent until I read your post!

That's a beautiful wristwatch John and you're blessed to have found a watchmaker who has the skills to repair it. I carry a Hamilton 992 railroad pocket watch from the mid-1920s that was repaired some years ago, but not to the level I hoped for.

I just upgraded to d7000 but have not taken that one for a test shoot yet. All my pics so far in my library are from d5100. Here's one of an egret fishing. I think I could have done a better job of metering here but I love how you can see the water drops splashing.

Some shots I took this weekend. The train scenes were with my 55-200mm kit lens, and the ornament was with my 35mm f/1.8.
