Re: spiders

Some very nice stuff. Honestly I find spiders to be truly fascinating creatures, though most people find them anywhere from slightly creepy to outright horrifying. Maybe it is the number of legs that creeps people out; 8 legs plus the two pedipalps. Of all the hundreds of species of spiders I have encountered in my life, the one one which really creeped me out were those damn Camel Spiders we encountered in Iraq and Kuwait. Those things were the damn DEVIL. Generally their vision is very poor and yet they make utterly fascinating and intricate webs. Though most spiders are either harmless to us or their bite amounts to little more than a bee sting, some can kill us very quickly like the Brazilian Wandering Spider or can cause truly ghastly tissue necrosis like the Brown Recluse. Good, bad or ugly, I still find them one of nature's most intriguing creatures!

Re: spiders

My Dad was bitten on the foot by a White Tail Spider about 2 years ago, he almost had to get his foot taken off. He ended up in hospital with a big rotten hole in his foot, the circulation almost stopped in his leg, and he ended up with kidney failure.
The only good thing that came out of it was, he gave up smoking. He was a heavy smoker for 60 years, hasn't had another cigarette since he was in hospital.

Re: spiders

Found this little Fella on the same leaf as yesterday. He lets me take 3 or 4 shots with the flash before he has had enough and goes away to hide.
