strangely a 'kit lens' 18-55mm VR nikon as I needed something to fill the gap between the sigma 10-20 and the 55-200 VR. I had one with my original D60 and forgot how good it is, definately worth having for £60

got it for $225 plus $10 postage... I love a bargain... and it's very clean... pics taken just as I unpacked it ten minutes ago.
There's an exhibition of exotic automobiles in the city this weekend - just might take it along for a "trial" shoot.
cheers

Hi all, I need you to wish me luck! I just attempted to order the D5100 while I still lacked $300.00 of available credit needed to completely cover the cost, and so far it looks as if it went through! My fingers are crossed while I wait for a tracking number to confirm it is going to be shipped without a problem of lack of funds available! :)

WooHoo! Having my fingers crossed must have worked, because my new D5100 has been shipped! :D

Which one did you get??? Let me know how you like it once you figure it out... So far, either I hold mine or prop it against a chair or light stand...

It's a very famous Chinese brand ;-) got it off eBay for $24.
basically it's a stick with extensions.. It has adjustable holders and clamps for different sizes of reflectors.. Also has a couple of bulky boom clamps.. Exactly like what you get from proper branded ones..

Well if you go back in my blogs you will see my nefarious plan I have been working on for a while. It worked!! My D7000 should be here any day now.

That's cool!
Love a plan when it works eh ;)
What you plan to do with the D5100 though?
Since i got my wife the D7000, i haven't used the D5100 much and she hasn't used either

The D5100 will be her main camera and I will use it for a backup. I did buy her a 18-200 macro to use with it since she would not like changing lenses at all. Was not the best lens but I did go shoot with it one afternoon and was pretty happy with it. For a walk around lens for what she shoots it will do quite fine.
