Sigma likes to give their lenses 'classifications' to make it appear they produce hundred of lenses. They have on their website the following:

38 Travel
20 Landscape
33 Wedding & Event
17 Portrait
15 Family
31 Nature & Wildlife
9 Sports & Action
23 Specialty



They also have 'Lines' of lenses for:

1 Contemporary
6 Art
1 Sport

These lenses sport a spiffy little medallion/button on the barrel of lens that magically makes the optics superior.

I have a feeling these terms are more marketing-speak than anything else, but if someone knows something different, please correct me.

I would agree, just a label, but the the silver "A" looks really cool . I have to say, it is one of the best looking lenses I have seen. I'm not a fan of the gold tone paint on Nikon or the gold bands on Tamron. This lens is very clean looking and the performance is fantastic.

Bean bag arrive yesterday,today is the first day of my weeks holiday but according to the weather forecast i need an underwater housing.



It came empty and my wife tells me it needs 32,465 polystyrene beads in it,any other amount and it wont work
