I thought, you can always try - so I wrote a pretty big danish dog food company (also got toys, goodies and so on), they got 17.000 page like on Facebook and make these huge competitions where you can win stuff for dogs - I wrote, if they would be interested in me offering a photoshoot with a dog as something their fans could win, in return I of course want the promotion.
10 minutes, then I got a reply, they wanna do it! Maybe I could be one of the prizes in their grand christmas competition, yaaaaay. Then he went further - if I could do product shots for them? Both classic clean pictures but also "environment" pics, like - dog laying in living room with something to chew on, dog playing with new fancy toy etc.

Well, the product shots I cant really do right now, as I dont have a setup for it, I didnt give him a straight answer, will just think about if I should invest for some gear for this. But the other pictures, I could totally do :-D

Found a studio! Its a shared studio, includes lamps and black and white backdrop (also green, for uuugh.. whats the name....), softboxes and triggers.

Its 1/4 of the price as another place I was looking at, with no setup at all, I would have to get it all myself. Bad part, its an hour away (dont have a car at the moment).

Interesting if I can figure out what to do with all these lamps  Hoping a friend will come by next week, so I can test it all.

The studio:

What good news! We can expect even more fantastic work from you! A whole new world will open up eh? Cheers, Brad :)

If I can figure it out, lol. My friend plays violin, I wanna try some creative images, but also 'normal' portraits.

This is from the ride today, only edit is conversion to b/w:

God, this girl is pretty. Posted it under 'portrait feedback' too. We're at the beach and weather was cloudy, therefore this amazing soft light.

A bird! Walked by and could hear loads and loads of birds, but couldn't see them. That just asked for me to put down my bag and declare war (of course not ;)) on those invisible birdies. As you can see on the colors, autumn is well on its way here:

Oh Wud.

Wud have you done to me? I have just seen this parts of this thread and the photos look awesome. But to top it off is the wonderful news that you have found a way to combine your love of photography, your beautiful animals and your new toy to make some money.

So now I HAVE to spend the morning (or part of it anyway) reading and looking at these photos. It wasn't part of my plans for the day but I will happily take the detour. ;)

Congratulations!

Thank you, Lawrence! Hope you will like it. Yes, suddenly it really started happening, amazing :) Loads of sleepless nights, I must admit, but now I feel more confident and I feel that I have learned a lot, so I am really beginning to have an instinct how to compose the shot, instead of all being a plan I made from home. Yes I did that ;) I drawed a lot of bad drawings with poses to place the people in. I didnt show the client of course..

Have you posted your avatar in big somewhere? Is it a mask?

I love your work. It gives me hope that I can get there too. If I learn just one new thing every other day or so it is progress.

My avatar is a funny mask lying around this house I am house-sitting. Thats about the full size of it as it is a wall hanging.

Wooo, I just got a text, if I wanted a Minolta xg-m slr, with 28-70 and 80-200 mm lenses. Oh but yes! Gonna be so fun to try.

Looking for Fuji Velvia 50 now, and maybe a b/w film too.

Few from the family session from yesterday - actually its a bit harder making the whole series in b/w, than I thought :)

I find the grass is distracting and takes away from the woman's face in the first shot. Other than that, nice photos.

How come fotojack edit some of the posts? Is it me doing something wrong, or a forum problem?

Doing my first studio shoot saturday - girl with red hair. Hope I can do some great stuff with her!

Jack does the behind the scene clean up act which I must say goes unnoticed at most times..
He fixes our typos and incorrectly spaced photos so ppl will find it easier going through the threads
