Today is just a small collection of fauna that I caught doing what fauna do.
The red squirrel saga continues. I came home from work and Scrat, our local red squirrel was hanging around the bird feeder. It turns out that Scrat is a she, as you will see from one of the photos. Also, she is still trying to make a nest in the barn. We heard her walking around in loft and then actually caught her peering down at us from the loft. She was too quick for me to get a photo. But here are today's squirrel photos.
Got Fleas?

It amazes me how squirrels can seem to contradict the laws of physics. She looks plastered on the side of the tree, like those witch Hallowe'en decorations.
Gravity? What's That?

Ah, nuthatch fledglings. I like nuthatches. They are rather fun to watch.

This next nuthatch photo is not as sharp as I would like it, but I just liked the bird's expression.

I heard some noises in the woods and walked over. I saw a doe and her two yearlings in the woods, just staring at me. The twins used to be triplets but one of them was hit by a car, hence my vulture photos from last week. This particular one kept staring at me, then wandered off.

Some great shots my friend! Love the squirl saga! Lol![]()
I had trouble finding the squirrel. She hides well.
I thought about that before I posted the image, but then I realized that was exactly why I like the photo. Search for Scrat!
When you've spent most of your life viewing a squirrel as an entree and NOT a pest, they can't hide!
It took me a moment, also, and I took the photo!Took me forever to find the squirrel.

A series of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening relegated me to finding something inside to photograph. I finished these socks this afternoon and figured they would do for today's posting. At least it's not the opportunistic feline photo.

Looking at our weather report for here, it should be relatively dry for the next couple of days, so your weather should be similar but a day or two later. I do hope it dries out a little so I can mow the lawn. Right now, our front lawn looks like a pond in some spots.Good for you,Barb.Been raining here all week.Just cleared out today.Hope it stays clear,I have a 6lb pork butt to smoke tomorrow lol.
HaHa! It would be nice if it did then I wouldn't have to use the stinky spray stuff.•
Poor Barbara, this is a major flaw of the MAC: no bug repellent app! I know that… =\
Have a good time!
