. . . just 'cause I have so many that share my life.

Shelter volunteer with one of the pups at this year's Fur Ball. Who says dogs don't like hugs and kisses?

My Sweet Girl, "Meggie"

Rescued her 5 years ago from idiots who had her tied up for the first 6 months of her life and were going to poison her because she was "worthless". She's bright, devoted and I consider myself lucky to have her in my life. If you know anything about "clicker training", when she sees me holding the clicker, she offers ALL the behaviors in the first 2 seconds . . . before I ask or click.

Over a period of 35 years we had three Great Danes all bought and paid for, over the same time we had two rescue (mixed breed ;)) as company so the dogs where never on there own,i wouldn't have another dog as i enjoy the freedom of not having to put them first, but rescue dogs are real value.

My four cats are all rescue critters. The newest one, actually adopted us and decided we were going to be his "people." Someone dumped him off "in the country" when he was about 6 months old. He was outside for quite a while. He came inside the house in January, and has had no desire to leave since, or even go near the door.

Animals have a way of finding their forever home! Your cats are lucky to have found you, Barbara!

Worked out the same for my cat George. He showed up in the garden as I was out weeding. This was 2 weeks after my boy Ralph went to chase mice in the sky. I tracked down his owner because he was chipped. Turns out he ran away from home when they got a dog & they did not want him back. He had been on his own for 2 years. Long story short George helped me get over a broken heart & won me over. He's been with us for 8 happy years.

Thanks, Tami Jo. She is fun to photograph, though I've captured her in some really odd poses because she's so fast.

No photos, but I flew my ninth Pilots N Paws flight yesterday - 17 "saves" so far. Oh, and Scooter, the Rat Terrier, bit me.

That's gratitude for you.

Hi, Helene!

Thank you - I do swing through every now and then. It was more interesting when we were talking about your tan lines. Now, it seems like some of us just can't can't play well in our sandbox. Too bad.

It's good to see you posting more often, though. I'm hoping that means your online magazine (proper term?) is doing well. I even see Pete here, too, which is also good.

I have no doubt that Scooter meant it. That's okay - at least he didn't leave me any party favors in my airplane.

Later,
