Today, I took this picture because a couple of months ago when they finally got this turbine up and running, I put a picture of it on Facebook and said "It's finally running!" Having taken the picture at high noon, the shutter speed was high and a friend replied, "You won't ever be able to tell it's running from a picture!" Of course my reply was, "Au Contraire Mon Frere! You'll have to wait until the lighting is just right though!" One always speaks in Frenglish when you want to get a point across, no?
Anyway, since they got the turbine up and running, I've probably taken a hundred pictures of it. They're all just as bad as this one. I think it's my composition. It's so big, I don't even know how to capture all of it's grandeur. I can get a really good picture of just the blades, but then there's no scale to it. I've traveled all around it trying from different angles, still no luck. You can see this thing starting at around 4 miles from it in any direction. It's quite big for a high school project!

I think it's your subject. I don't think wind turbines are easy to photograph. I think they are cool, but not an easy subject.
Have you asked it to turn to its more photogenic side?Sorry, I couldn't resist that.
I did ask. It just kept spinning. Probably couldn't hear me from way up there.
Oh well.. I'll keep trying! Maybe someday I'll just get lucky. It's not like it's going anywhere!

YYYYOOOOOOO!!!!!! That's just icky. Isn't it a little early for these guys? How big was he?

It's really early for these guys. Hope he makes it out to the barn, or stays hidden. He won't last long with two cats around here! I'll usually take these big ones out to the barn where they grow into monster size spiders! I think they're wolf spiders. They have absolutely no interest in humans. Unless you walk into their nest.
Don't walk into their nests. He was maybe a tad bigger than a half dollar coin.

I was thinking it was a wolf spider. We have some doozy wolf spiders around here. Did you know they live for 2 to 3 years, that is if they do not get squished by humans or eaten by cats.It's really early for these guys. Hope he makes it out to the barn, or stays hidden.
