i had a wolf spider in my garage once, stood on it and about 50 young ones ran from it, i guess they were on it back/body somewhere, sprayed them with ant spray.

Oh no!!! Don't kill nice wolf spiders! Oh, and yes, babies will hitch a ride.

There was one way up in the corner of the ceiling in the shower in the little bathroom downstairs off of the laundry room. My wife is the only one that uses that shower. She just let 'em go, and when they hatched she just took a picture of all the babies and posted it on facebook. All of her friends thought she was insane, but really, most of those are going to die, a lot of them will go outside, and one will probably stay inside. That's probably the one I took a picture of last night.

If they don't bother us, we don't bother them. That's the rule. Plus, I don't even think we own a fly swatter. Between the spiders, cats, and the weird yellow lab there's no need for 'em!

Here comes the comet! Wish me luck!

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

Good luck! A friend ours drove out to 20 mile bend in sugar cane country for a clear view of the comet. They were burning the fields and all he saw was smoulder.

Oh! That'd be awful!

They're not burning the fields tonight, so we shall see! Hope it's at least over the tree line in the distance!

I have a friend who thinks she sees it! But she's 40 miles to the east so it's darker there.

But it should show up soon!

Hmmm... If it truly is suppose to be right on the horizon, I think there's clouds right there. Tonight may be a bust..

Day 073

Well... The great comet hunt today is a bust. I think the clouds way out on the horizon covered it up. I'll check again before I go to bed though.

Saw this pseudo-comet though! Never saw anything like it! It's just the sun playing tricks.

Day 75 (The ER)

Taken with my cell phone, as that's the camera I had on me!

This is Dr. Kat checking on his patient.

I removed the hen from the flock because when I went in to check on them, I found her already perched. It was around 4pm, way too early to be perched. Then when I picked her up she did not fight me like she normally would. That's when I found a bunch of feathers missing around her neck. You can see some of that in that photo. I thought maybe the other hens were beating her up, as she is the little one of the bunch. Plus she hasn't laid an egg in about 4 weeks now. So I took her inside, gave her a bath and setup the dog crate they spent a few months in when they were just chicks. Figured I could watch her closer inside.

After some research, and watching her a bit, it turns out she's just molting. (Newbie Chicken Owner Panic) They stop laying eggs while molting and they become subdued and less active. Other then that stuff, there's nothing else i could find wrong with her so I returned her to the flock this morning where I'm sure she had great stories to tell of her night inside! I've been checking all day, and her feathers are everywhere!

I'm the proudest father ever today! I didn't even put a watermark on it. I didn't want to tarnish the photo. :D

Day 078

Well... About once every couple of months my body just shuts down on me. It's payback for only sleeping 3-5 hours a night.

I got home from work about 3pm, laid down on the bed and the next thing I know it's little past 6pm. Grabbed my phone, snapped this pic, plugged in the phone, turned the alarm on and went back to sleep until 4:38am. So 13.5 hours of sleep! I should be good to go for another couple of months! ::what::

Day 080

Just when I thought there was nothing else to take a photo of in this house, I found a piece of glass to play with!

Hopefully that'll keep me busy enough until the spring season decides to show up! 28 degrees... phhht!
