Borneo Adventure

Just finished my last shift before myself and the better half set off on a 2 week tour of Borneo including Kuching, Kota Kinabula, Sandakan and a few nights in the rain forest!
Camera packed, 3 batteries, 70-300, 10-20 and 18-55 lenses, 64gb of memory cards (May buy some more at the airport!) 3 batteries, filters, plenty of silica gel in the camera bag as well as waterproof rain cover. Think that should cover it!
Hopefully I'll be posting photos of Orungtans, Proboscis monkeys and plenty of bird life as soon as I get back.

Terrible IPhone pic but this was at Semegoh Orangutan rehabilitation centre. Have been here 4 days and already taken 1200 pictures! Definitely going to take some time in PP!

Now in Kota Kinabalu and had a great meal tonight at a pick your own sea food restaurant. A new experience, really enjoying so far and I am now up to around 1800 pictures!

We had the most amazing time in Borneo and would recommend it to anyone. Have started to process my photographs and as I get through them I will post them here. This one just stood out for me. Blue Eared Kingfisher asleep next to the Kinabatang river.

Nice shot of a stunning little bird, but to my eye the colors are over saturated .

Agree they probably are a touch. The lighting was from a battery powered lamp the guides were using to spot the wildlife in the dark and the cameras on board flash. I have not boosted it in PP so may look at bringing it down a touch.

Another from the same shoot with the WB adjusted to compensate for the lighting. Looks better I think.

Of course a trip to Borneo is not complete without seeing Orangutan. This little fella is 2 year old Itinban at one of the orphan rehabilitation centres. We also saw 11 completely wild Orangutan and I have lots more photos to process!
