We took a trip to Semenggoh Orangutan rehabilitation centre near Kuching in Sarawak. Couldn't believe our luck as we saw 8 Orangutan at the centre. Although they are fed the centre would rather they left and fend for themselves, the provided food is just a supplement.

One of the lodges we stayed at was on the Batang Ai dam in Sarawak. This was the sunset on our first night there.

Whilst staying at Batang Ai we had the chance to visit the Iban tribe long house, the famous "Head Hunters" of Borneo.

Thanks Scott. The Orangutan shots are posing some fun to get the balance right between the shadows and the light sky behind them. I wont edit the ones in the thread as the link disappears but I am just working through a large number that I shot of wild Orangutan and will post when I get through them.

We stayed one night in Kota Kinabalu and the plan was too visit the open air market. It hammered down with rain all afternoon! I walked round the market with the camera in my bag under my waterproofs looking at photo opportunity after photo opportunity :dejection:
We then went to eat at the Sedco square fish restaurant. An open area surrounded by fish restaurants where you picked what you wanted out of a tank and it was cooked for you. Again I have a thing for B&W in these situations.

Thanks Jonathan. That gentleman was the head man of the Iban longhouse we visited, we had lunch with his family. I feel meeting the people and seeing their way of life is such an important part of visiting another country.
