What a strange name. Any chance this is a belated April fools article?
Still the rumor of the D7200 this Summer, too... and the D7xxx line has been thrown around as the "flagship" of the DX line for quite some time. Is there REALLY an urgent need for something between the D7xxx and the D610? Nikon... well, the whole tech marketplace, confuses me sometimes.
Granted, I'm a n00b still, but can someone enlighten me as to what a model above the D7xxx line would add to a DX body that wouldn't warrant the small amount of money to go on up to an FX? I could see maybe an increased buffer, or a bit more FPS, but couldn't they just put that in the D7200? I guess it's a way to eke out that extra couple hundred bucks?
Don't get me wrong. I'll probably still want one... I just want to know why.

Bill...I have the D610 and D7100... Go FX and don't look back....The pro-dx will probably be so close in price to the D610 that it would only make sense to skip it and go fx...I sure wish they had more info on it! It sounds like it might be a great future upgrade for me, once I could come up with the price, when it's been around for awhile! I love the D300, so this sounds like great news! Maybe I won't want to go full frame if the new Nikon turns out great!
But you never know I guess! Lol
The D7100 satisfies as a pro-dx in my book...The price will be higher then the d7100.. So FX would be the better choice in this situation..Like I said before, nikon should concentrate on more glass instead of this non-sense..135mm 1.8 or F/2 etc...Nikon people are keeping an eye on Sigma so Nikon should get the hint already..Price speculation, could a pro Dx out price the entry level Fx? I don't think Nikon will do that. I'll put it at $1699 (us), a $500 premium over the D7100.
