I am liking the flower a lot and give that puppy a bath. i would imagine your fellow students will learn as much from you as from the course.

Awesome as always :)

Even though you say you could have done better on the five dogs, I think you have captures them wonderfully and show great character from each individual dog. I like it! :)

I knoooooow! I was almost hitting the roof when it came out of the printer - its just spot on what I wanted. Her eyes say so much, if I look one way at the image she looks worried but if I move my eye a tiny bit, I see she has this mysterious smile.

It looks amazing on semi glossy A3+ paper. I walked over to her to give it and she was blown away, we had to drink a beer and just look at it lol. Think she send me 5 text messages afterwards. Really happy it wasn't only me who like it so much.

I told her, while doing this, I had been thinking about doing a project called "women".. but not sure how it should be done, just me wanting to work with closeup portraits of women. She suggested I did several images like this, they wont really be the same as the women look so different. Maybe thats a very good idea.

Am bringing this image for the photo course of course, hoping to get some feedback on how to proceed a project..

WOW, WOW, WOW! That B&W baby shot was fantastic, then I see the daisy-shadow and floating head (which I think worked wonderfully), and THEN... that shot of your neighbor. There are a million tales in the way you captured that shot, and the eyes... spot on!!

Good lookin portrait! And how are we difficult to shoot?

I don't know how to place you, like a woman. I tried several positions but don't feel they work on computer. Like the previous shot of my husband, I end up cutting the head of to get it to work (in camera, so can't show you without). I love to cut so that's okay but what if I needed an image without?

Do you photograph a guy looking up or down at the camera?
Head back or forward?
Shoulders up, back, forth?

When I shoot a women I try different positions and think I see the differences pretty fast (does it work or not), guys not so much...

I shoot men just below eye level, so they have a slight downward look. Usually squared up to the camera to convey a solid feel to the image. Almost blocky. A more aggressive image. I think angles.

women I see more as flowing images, softer....rounder. Gentle poses either shot below chin level or slightly above eye level.

Maybe this works better

The light/the depth in his eyes I like in this one but as my husband pointed out, the tilted head makes him look a little to .. educational or something.

Re: Wud's project 365

Hey. Its been a while, Im sorry. The course where unbelievable, and I have learned so much but its hard to get it to "sink in".. its very summerish here now and I am melting away in the heat. Been keeping myself busy but have done pictures everyday. I did think about stopping this 365 as its hard for me to get the computer opened in the evenings - but I got all the images so..

Lots to come now.

Day 176, june 26

Assignment, Staged Portrait - we failed a bit. Long story short, we had a great idea, got thrown away from the area lol and when returning, all the good spots at the school were taken. And we didn't have a backup plan.

Anyways, was still good fun ;)
