Re: Wud's project 365

Day 38, idea stolen from Pretzel's 365 thread (go see it, if you haven't already).

Egg! Organic of course.

And I have been so lucky yesterday and today! Got my images for display printed out, VERY beautiful printing! (The quality, I mean). I ended up only giving 4.. the really dark one didn't make it. I got 2 beautiful flower images delivered - I changed shots with Ron :) :) And then I got 3 books from the lovely lady photographer who where here to give me some feedback on my images last summer, the yearly press images from 3 different years, and I love seeing those press images, normally I go see them displayed (oh, btw, one year a guy photographed my 2 dogs, so they got displayed there too :D).

Then I signed up for a workshop on jan. 15th - one where I will learn a lot about PP, keywords in LR, how to chose the best image, how to process it so it looks its best, oh its gonna be so good! He gives us some images he has shot, and then go through the PP with us.

AND. Last, but not least, a pretty famous photographer who really knows how to make shadows work in PS, is finally doing a workshop in Copenhagen, I waited quite some time for this, so YAY! Go see his stuff - Adrian Sommeling. Its very photoshopped but I am so amazed about the shadows he does. And besides this, I think its so good for inspiration, to go to workshops once in a while.

Okay. Rambling of - here is an egg, and a mobile shot of the books:

Day 39 - loads of images. I was so inspired, both from reading in the press photo book, but also by the weather, we almost had spring here today. I even took my camera with me all day.

First, dogs. I wanted to do simple but tilted compositions - as you probably can see.

Not sure why, but something I like about this image..

nd3_0360_web.jpg

Gotta go to this place again, when the sun is shining directly in! Beautiful place, I think. Imaging the light and shadows being much more contrasted.

nd3_0430_web.jpg

Just... cute :)

nd3_0433_web.jpg

Last 2 images of dogs, going down in an elevator. Big guy LOVES elevators, lol.

nd3_0436_web.jpg

Uhh what will we see when the door opens? I am pretty sure thats whats he is thinking about.

nd3_0439_web.jpg

Then I went for a roofing ceremony (think thats the right translation), and did 2 quick and simple portraits.

And last, but not least, I went for the reception at the gallery. This shadow, comes from some bottles that was displayed, kind of scary :)

nd3_0480_web.jpg

The guy who made sure my images got a very fine wall to hang on :)

Went out to eat with my husband afterwards and now I am tired! :)

I love the egg photo. Who would have thought such a simple object would look so interesting, especially in B&W.

Agree! But they are really pretty. I did some more shots I really liked, but on each and every one, I over-exposed a bit on the egg (flash), so they got deleted.

I am afraid you are right - fall is coming here and I am not looking forward to it. We don't get nice white snow and crisp days to photograph. We get rain and wind (which delivers the rain horizontally) and mud - lots of mud. Brown stuff does not photograph as well as white stuff.

As an aside I have a crick in my neck from the first photo above. ;)

I am not the right one to say this to, lol. Read somewhere, we had 17 hours of sun i January. 17!! On an entire month! We had snow for 2 days. But now all the spring flowers are coming in the garden :)

About your neck, thats just what happens when getting old :p

Wow! I love his style! Especially his kids photos.
Funny thing is I actually had an idea for some ideas for some composite work yesterday, before looking at his images, that are pretty close to some of the stuff he has made. I have no idea whatsoever how to get started on work like this. But maybe this just tells me that I will have to learn, some way or another :)

Maybe you should come for the workshop?! Its pretty amazing what he does. I signed up for sunday. Mostly I am interested in how he makes the shadows but I'm sure I'll learn so much :)

That's a great idea. I'd really like to go. It's in Copenhagen, right? Is there a webpage for the workshop?

Hmm. It's probably a little too close to my wife's due date for me to be hanging out in the other end of the country. Too bad. It looks like a great workshop. I hope you enjoy it, and maybe even pass on some of the golden stuff :)

Bottom one is the HDR (I think...). I like them both. I feel they both have a place. The best shot is spring flowers though! Also loving the shots of your dogs. I use to be a Samoyed owner in the past. Now just have a nutty lab to contend with.

Oh really? Did you have a barker or a non-barker? Lol. I have one of each..
Yeah, thats spring one turned out pretty fun, like looking into another world.
