Mai.....since you have white dogs....ever thought of using colored lights to change the color of the fur? For some reason I think your dogs would look cool Tie Dye.

Colored light how? Like in front of a flash/lamp? No I haven't, but that's a good idea! I did think a lot about putting food color in water and getting the youngest to play in it!

FINALLY the ice light arrived - or, so close I am kind of having a heart attack. In a post center which closed 30 minutes ago. Turns out they wrote my address wrong so they probably been looking for me for a whole week!

Have I mentioned I have no patience..? Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow xxx.

OMG! Please...oh please...food color your dogs. That would be so awesome! I have a buddy who has a black Pomeranian that has a bright red Mohawk and tufted tail. The possibilities with your pups is endless.

But as for the color lights on the dogs. I saw how the gold dish really popped so I figured it you could do something with shining colored light on the white fur it could be kinda cool.

We put the red St. George's cross on our white Bichon Frise during the last world cup using food colouring.... May have to do the same again this time!

There was someone who while shaving their Schnauzer decided to give it a mohawk... It ended up looking like a donkey!

Schnauzer or donkey lol | FollowPics

I rarely find stuff like funny :hopelessness: Just imaging the dog on a walk, everybody laughing at it... But I did shave my dogs on the belly one year and I ain't ever doing that again - their undercoat kind of overproduced wool for almost 2 years afterwards, dooh :)

Day 140 (may 21)

Heavily cropped, 105mm

nd3_0421_web.jpg

Trying out the reflector on the prettiest guy on earth - I guess I should work a little on my technique, so people won't get blinded hmmm! Other than that, I think I got an okay portrait, colors are nice and the image are only with very few adjustments (since its raw).

Day 141 (may 22)

DA DA DAAAAAA! Its the Ice Light, baby!

As dark as I could get my bedroom, ice light on full power (no pp)

iso 200, f/1.4, 1/400 - on the 50mm lens

Ice light on lowest power (no pp)

iso 200, f/1.4, 1/250

And a test portrait, ice light on a little over lowest power. Trying to create shadows, if you wonder ;)

iso 200, f/2, 1/40

Great photos Mai . I will let you guess at which one I like best. And for heavens sake, do not dye your dogs. Use colored filters or colored cellophane over your lens if you must fool around. Those dogs are too lovely to be messed with

Mai, they make gels to use with flash units, but I'm not sure about how to alter the color if you are using strobe lights. The following link shows some photos of flash units with gels attached as well as some photos of results with gels: https://www.google.com/search?q=fla...LisAStx4DoCg&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAw&biw=1280&bih=605

And here is a video of Bryan Peterson demonstrating using a gel over a flash unit. Something like this might look rather cool when used with your dogs! :)

Hmm yeah okay. Must be better gels he have, because I tried those I have and it looked pretty bad. His color is way more solid. Do you think the red is only on the wall because the flash didn't hit the house or do you think its 2 images?

I think the wall is red because the flash only illuminated the wall and wasn't able to reach the house. I've never tried gels myself. Maybe you could post a question under the portrait section asking for methods of coloring the light. There might be alternatives to gels. Reflectors add in a little bit of color from their surface, but I don't know if they come in colors other than gold or silver.

I too think your white dog would look cool if it was colorized. ;)

Tried printing on canvas today. It's hanging to dry until Monday. 60x80 cm and second image I've ever printed for myself ;)

Did you print this using a home printer? One day I might get some velvet fine art paper and give it a try especially after seeing your print! ;)

No, on a huge and fancy print machine at school. I've looked a lot on fine art paper, specially one called museum but still not sure which printer to get - and if I should get one at all, worried about if the print quality will be as good as the place I use now..

I think you should try it! I wanna see :)

Day 143, busy day, photographed for 5-6 hours. First a million shots for a website (dog training), then portraits of some of the dogs who helped out with previous pictures, afterwards a surprise for a girl getting married - a shoot in a nearby park of her and her pregnant belly. Fun!

I think this is some of the cutest I have ever seen in my life.....:
