Did you read that the Beartooth highway will open this Friday? We close escrow on Thursday making the Beartooth's my new backyard playground. It's going to be an AWESOME summer, can't wait.

You lucky man! That's great news, congratulations! You picked a fantastic area! I'm kind of jealous, but I'm only about 45 minutes away. I'm actually planning on going up (down) there next week. Generally the road gets opened right around Memorial Day. Driving up early season is a blast because they just plow right through around 6-7 feet of snow in some areas, so you can get shots of the road flanked on both sides by sheer walls of snow and ice.

In other news, I'm picking up a new(er) Frontier within the next couple of weeks. Just couldn't stand being behind the times

So yesterday's shots got me thinking about cool and different ways to look at my truck. I really see some beauty in mechanical things, so I came up with a few off the wall shots. This sort of thing really lends itself to B&Ws or gritty looking color photos.

Also, my sidewalk is being flanked by dandelions, so I thought I'd grab a shot of one before I mulched it with my mower. :D

Love your Linkages image using selective focus coupled with its being shot vertically. Great stuff all around! :)

Also, I finally picked up a desk and a second screen so I can make my life easier when editing and uploading, so now I actually have a workstation!

This is very similar to my work station. I think I have a bit larger monitor but not as nice of chair :-( The chair would be better than a more expensive monitor. Love having the laptop that can go with me and having a larger screen to edit on, makes life a LOT easier.

Don't worry folks, I'm still kicking. I spent the weekend in the mountains and now have a ton of unedited photos to go through. I've been so busy with editing and other things that I never had the chance to take a photo yesterday :(

Oh well though! Back to it today!

My fiance worked at a church camp up in the mountains for a few summers, and every year they have a weekend where people will come up and help them out by doing the maintenance work that needs to be done there. It sounded like fun to us, so we drove up on Friday. I was so busy doing all the prep that I only managed one good photo.

I also had some time to do some night shots.

Today was the day we left the camp. I decided to head up the road to an off road trail and do some poking around.

Then we headed down the valley towards home.

We also stopped to see the waterfall at the bottom of the road.
