The only shots of Sandhill Cranes that I had before these were WAY up high as they flew by. They make a strange sort of sound, or else I might have just assumed they were geese. This guy walked right up to me and was no more than four feet away. It was pretty amazing!

They sure do make a distinct sound...........and they are not small birds LOL. Well done sir.

A lot of them are use to people feeding them. I saw one attack a car with a man sitting in it eating his lunch. I was to far away for a shot.
