Posted a B/W version of this image in the B&W section...
This was taken from the top of one of the mounds that you see here..
Very funny angle i had to perch on so i could frame this...
'Stupas' is a very rough translation cos the word Stupas has more of a Buddhist touch to it, whereas this was a Hindu temple..
It basically refers to the top mound of the construction.. You will see these in most ancient temples all over the planet...
(Sorry Marilynne, i did not realize i had named it without an explanation in the other thread :p )

The color shot is SUPERB!

Thank you pat! Means a lot.
Gee I must've woken up on the right side of the bed :D
About the critique, I think that really gave me a good perspective of photography in general.. I have gone back to that thread quite a few times and each time I seem to learn something new :)
I have no idea why that style of critiquing no longer exists cos it's really helpful.
It may just improve someone's 'eye'! :)

I'm so glad to have helped. You've come a long way since that first post. Technique can be taught or learned, but not talent and passion, and that's what comes through in your photography.

So your photo earned 5 out of 12 points, not too bad for a beginning shot of a very difficult subject. Check out some of the threads here like the daily photos and project 365 photos to get some ideas. Above all, keep taking photos . . . that's how you develop a good eye.

By this grading system, I would assign you 12 out of 12 points on your latest work! Keep up the fabulous work!

WL, I have looked through your gallery. You certainly have come a long way in such a short time. Your recent photos are really well shot. I do not think you are far from realizing your dream we talked a out. Well done and keep up the fantastic work :)

HUH by WhiteLight Photography, on Flickr

Am guessing that may be your reaction when you see this picture.
That was my reaction too when i saw on my imac as well :)
Everything is technically incorrect about the images above - cos the subject in the image was NOT my intended subject.
I was trying to get a few shots of the massive temple complex which is in the background.
I had taken a few shots at one angle & then moved to my left and taken a few more shots of that side as well.
That dude!!!
He is staring right at me in ALL the images & he looks pissed :p
Am guessing he thought i was taking pictures of him??!!

No clue... i had a good laugh, thought you might too
