And another from today, taken haphazardly from a moving car, through the windshield, IOT get the shot. How many aircraft shots are framed by an oak tree?

I made plans to revisit an earlier shot this evening, but it required a visible sun for the sunset. What we had instead was a solid, horizon-to-horizon, overcast.

Then, I went home and set up for bird shots, but the birds didn't get the word.:(

So, I've gone macro, or should I say micro, for the shot today.

Such a photographically frustrating day!!

I've got to reassess my entire procedure and setup. Over 100 shots of birds using the D90 and 300 mm (manual focus), and there wasn't a single one that was in focus. They looked ok in the viewfinder, and the focus indicator in the viewfinder was illuminated, but not a single one of them was in focus.

At 300mm you've likely got the element of movement as well, so while focus may be on the pressing of the shutter button alone can create slight blur if you're not rock solid and at high enough shutter speeds.
