February 2, 2014, Day 33, Shot 33
At the end of another dreary, overcast day, another male Downy Woodpecker, this time with the manual focus 300 mm, f4.5. At 1/60 sec, this guy was just too busy except on this one shot, and I missed the focus by a bit. But with the day winding down, this has to be it. On a good note, the 300 doesn't need to be cropped much at all compared to the 200.
I was about to talk myself into a compromise and get the Nikkor 300 mm f4, but after the reminder of working with an f4- lens, I'll wait until I've saved enough for a 300 f2.8.
