What is your next photography purchase

Once owned a 4x5 Graflex. Was out of my mind to sell it. Hope you find a good one.

I figure I'll bide my time. Good things come to those who wait, they say.

I'm thinking either a Tachihara, Wisner or a Shen Hao. 90 and 150mm lenses, 4-6 film backs and I'll be set.

And you may think I'm nuts, but I want one that LOOKS good.... mahogany or cherry, with brass or stainless steel. Not something plastic & metal... I don't want to look like JFK's photographer.

Dragging my feet for a while on the next purchases. A D7200, Sigma 18-35 1.8 art, and an uwa (maybe Tokina 11-20).
Aside from some flash stuff that's it for as far as i can see.

Yea, I'm going back and forth and all over the place. I will rent one however, before making the purchase.:indecisiveness:

Not easy deciding is it,do i take the small benefit to my bird photography and get the D7200,do i enter the world of FX with the D610,do i take note of the dropping price on the D750 and save a bit longer,if i save a bit longer will Nikon in that time realize they need a better DX before next years Olympics, still half the fun is deciding.

I've agonized over the jump to FF enough and just can't settle with the loss of range with shooting wildlife. But the desire for a D750 and some good glass is definitely there. I'm hoping the 18-35 art will take care of my IQ lust.
If i start thinking about it too much the whole indecisive process will start all over again. :worked_till_5am:

If I do go FX , I'm still keeping my D7100.

I'm a way off going to FX but every time I think about it I wonder if a D610 a big enough step from a D7100 to make the expense worth it? Depends on the glass you already have I suppose, but for me I would have to replace at least one of my wider lenses too.

My next purchase, now I have the 70-200 to replace my 55-300 will be a bag to carry my gear - The bag I have just isn't big enough anymore, so I'm thinking one of these... Pro Light Camera Backpack: 3N1-35 PL MB PL-3N1-35 - Slings | Manfrotto

After that, and when the wife lets me back in the house, I will be after a 2x Teleconvertor for the 70-200.

I'm limiting my purchases this year, but saving away... I saw so much at the camera show that was way cheaper than in any shop... so I have to save as much money as I can before next March :) (New 24-70, tripod, printer are on the list for the show)
IF I buy anything this year it will likely be a bag.

Funny you mention the 55-300mm...that and the 10-24mm are my only DX lenses left, and I struggle with how best to replace the 55-300. Because of the possible FX future, the 70-200 doesn't seem long enough, but so then what? I'm not sure the 70-300 is the answer, so do I wait and jump on the 300mm/f4 prime? I think I need something in that 200-300mm range.

Yep, I umm'ed and ahh'ed about what best to replace the 55-300with, and I have settled on the 70-200 f2.8, with a 2x teleconverter - Now I just need the converter, but in mean time the extra IQ and crop is easily better than the 55-300 with no crop.

The 2x teleconvertor will knock your IQ down, slow your AF, and stop you down quite a bit. I know its not as long but a 1.4 would give you a 100-280(ish)mm without losing too much
