I could probably stand to add a macro lens to the bag. But which one? 60, 85, 105? Recommendations, suggestions?
FX, and...not really sure. I have no experience with macro lenses. It might be helpful to give examples of which lens is ideal for what.
Would like to replace my Sigma 24-70mm with the Nikon 24-70mm non-VR especially if the price comes down a little more. And a Nikon 16mm fisheye. I don't do birding or wildlife so fortunately the desire for a telephoto isn't there.![]()
Why do you want to replace the sigma 24-70? Just curious, I need something in that range, not a lot of money, I have considered the Nikon 18-55 VR II. I am new and just got my D7100 and got a Nikon 55-200mm, so need that lower end. I have heard a lot of good things about the Sigma as far as its optics.

I'm with Bill ... I'd either do the Nikon 105mm or the Tamron 90mm. I hear good things about the Sigma also, but would have to get the low down from @Pretzel on his purchase to be sure.![]()
Lucky you.... ours is getting up for 2k a month (with overpaying while the interest rate is so low) we've managed to cut 8 years off our mortgage
I started out buying, buying, buying - just to test stuff out and thinking to myself I can always sell it. Well now I have quite a bit of overlap and primarily stick to bringing 3 lenses with me when we travel. I have the D5500 which is a pleasure to use and is a great fit for me. I have bought and sold the D7000 within the past year with very few actuations on it. Now I want a refurbished D7100. Why? I don't know! I like a bargain, but it makes no sense to want this. My needs are met. I have the tools to do what I'm trying to accomplish in most any given situation.
Several of you have expressed the desire to get the Tokina 11-16mm which I have but am considering selling. Here's the deal: the outer focus points don't let me know (I have the beep turned on) when they have locked focus on the D5500 (although they appear in focus to me regardless). So that makes me want to get the Nikkor 10-24mm as an alternative. Maybe I need to do a Google search on how to update software on lens/camera.
In reality the purchase I am most likely to make in 2016 is CC subscription and tutorials on using it properly. I'll let you know if I end up deciding to sell any more lenses. I can tell you they are in like new condition.

Dead Horse Point?
Seriously, find another way.
Step down on your daily driver needs really it isn't important!
Pondering a new pickup at the moment but $45k for what I want has me hunting a used model patiently from a trusted dealer vs. selling my GT convertible to fund the new truck.
Beloved vintage rides are hard to replace, don't do it!!!
Well, thought I had sorted out a way to keep it, then the beginning of the year threw some very nasty curves at me, completely unexpected, of the nastier variety.
Needless to say, the ol' blue Camaro has gone to a new home. I made sure it went to a person that would cherish it, treat it well, and not destroy it to create one of those "used to be a classic but has no original soul" restorations. I cried when I signed the title.
Now, I've got to re-order a lot of everything and sort out if there's any time to even shoot photos any more. No long stories here, and I'll be shooting when I can, but sometimes life throws sucker punches ya can't dodge, eh?
Now I'm trying to sort out if I can keep the bike...
