What do you have on MAC

Aperture, Lightroom 4, iPhoto, photoshop elements 11, dxo pro, capture and view nx2.
Mostly use dxo pro and elements to do what I need to do for photos. Sometimes I use Lightroom. For videos, iMovie works great.

Aside from ViewNX, PS elements, and darktable, I added Aftershot Pro last week because it works on both Mac & Linux. I swore off Windows 2-1/2 years ago (except for my spousal unit's 10+ yr old Dell running XP that will not die, luckily for him, and having to use Win7 at work). I am trying to make my photo processing life as easy compatible as possible between OS X and Linux.

I ditched windows about 2 yrs ago and use mac's. for my main editing i use LR & PS CS6. I also have Photomatix pro, but i'm learning to layer in PS and i really like that outcome much better.

PS is just way over the top complicated to use quickly. Everything has to be layered, you can't just crop a freakin' image in a second. No, first you have to do this, than then the other weird thing that you can never remember..

Its still a lot easier to use than the manual way in the dark room... with chemicals, burning and dodging... etc.
And, a whole lot quicker!
But, I don't really like using PS. DXO pro fixes lens distortion and cleans up the corners... ps elements lets me fine tune with topaz plugins, or just adjust in elements itself.

What do I have on my Mac? A few boxes and a bunch of dust :D My Macs have been in the attic since around 1996 when I went to the dark side. I've thought about tossing them out but I just can't seem to do it.

As I've just started off, I mainly use lightroom... Along with photomatix.. Picasa for resizing and adding borders.
I have plans of learning Photoshop but free time is far and few in between so not much progress. I just use for the cloning and content aware tool

You can do resizing, add borders and clone in Lightroom too.

I've read briefly online that lightroom can do this in the 'print' module. But I didn't really get around to figuring out out.. The clone tool is quite incomplete (if I've understood that correctly) as it just offers round shapes which doesn't help most of the time... Or does it?

You are correct that the clone/healing feature is circular. Generally I find that combining it with opacity, I can address most small issues.

Adding borders and/or resizing is an export feature (either print or file). I literally can't imagine using Lightroom without Timothy Armes' LR/Mogrify 2 to enable this capability. The plugin is donationware (you donate whatever you think is appropriate) to license.

Interesting, I've never heard of this software. What exactly does it do?

Mogrify provides more output options including frames, watermarks, text, etc. Check this out:

I'm bummed, I tried to get it to work and then I read that it's for LR-2. Are you running LR-4 and are able to get this plug-in to work?

btw, sorry for hijacking this thread.
