Ok, I tried it out today.... does it work, yes!!! How were my lens's.... well lets look...
Basic setup, both on tripod

Original tests were too far back and there was not enough variance... so I closed
the distance to exaggerate the lack of DOF
First up was my 35 mm f1.8
1st shot is a very slightly front focused... not sure how much adjust to affect a change I went back 4.
2nd shot shows that is way too much...

I went to back 2, then back 1 (picture) and it was still too much... so I ended up leaving it un-touched.

The I went to the 50mm f1.8...........
Pretty much the same... real close, very slight front, went back 2, then only back 1...
and ended up leaving it alone....
Untouched and the back 1

Last up, I did my Sigma 105 Macro... This one was dead on!!!!

End result, I left all 3 len's alone... It was nice to know that they are fine and if I have any issues, it is likely the
knucklehead behind the viewfinder...
Important to have good lineup... I used 2 tripods, bubble levels and set the vertical lineup with the 300 zoom to dial in close.
They indicate to use an approx shooting distance as you would in life... I did NOT see enough variation there even at f1.8 so I ended up
running my tests closer .... which magnifies any variation...
At a later date I will look at my 3 zoom lens's......
Have a great day all....
